Sometimes, when i cast to it and it is off it turns on. Other times I have to turn it on and what i am casting is playing on the TV. Still other times, I have to turn it on and select the imput for it to play on the TV. It will work one way for a week, then switch forna couple of days, switch again for 1 day, then be consitent for over a week and so on. Volmune is the same way, some days i can use my phone to adjust it and others I have to use the remote

But he watches television shows on it also. He loves having his own personal television. It came with my 75" television. We couldn't be happier with them. Insignia is a great brand.
