Don’t sleep with the TV on!

As other reviews have mentioned, the TV will freeze and start blaring static noise at maximum volume. This happened when I was sleeping and it scared the soul right out of my body. I reached for the remote but it wasn’t responding so I got up and in the midst of my adrenaline slammed the tv down to remove the power cord but it’s attached to the back of the TV. I’m a small lady and I’ve never lifted a 120lb dresser so easily in my life trying to get to the power outlet to unplug the TV all while being assaulted by ear shattering static noise. What a terrible way to be woken up. Moral of the story if you sleep with the TV on don’t buy the cheapest option. I only had the TV for 3 weeks.

Recently purchased this TV for my kitchen area and low cost. Unfortunately this TV didn't even make it a week without having issues of freezing/locking up twice, requiring a complete power cycle (removed the power cable and reinserted power), as well as one time when turning on the TV, there was no sound and that also required rebooting of the TV. Returned it to BestBuy and spent the extra money on a LG of equal size.

Read the negative reviews! I have had the tv for 2 weeks and everytime i turn it on it is great until it glitches, screen is nothing but colored lines and the horribly loud static noise that yiu can not turn down or turn off lasts a few minutes and then the whole tv resets. Oh and the review for a sweepstake is the only way to leave a review - they do not give you an option not to enter for the gift card

⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ Excellent Budget 4K TV After Long-Term Daily Use I’ve been using these Insignia 43” F50 Series Fire TV’s daily for several years now and currently own 3 as a secondary TV’s in my Home and RV and for the price, it has exceeded expectations. And when they go on sale it’s evermore worth it. Picture Quality: For a budget 4K TV, the picture is surprisingly solid. Colors are vibrant without looking overly saturated, and sharpness is very good for streaming content. It’s not a high-end panel, so blacks aren’t OLED-deep and HDR is modest, but for Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and live TV, it looks clean and consistent. Motion handling is fine for sports and regular TV — no major blur or stutter in normal viewing. Fire TV Experience: The built-in Fire TV OS is one of the biggest strengths here. Apps load quickly, navigation is smooth, and updates have been reliable. Voice control through Alexa works well for searching shows or adjusting volume. I haven’t experienced freezing or random reboots, which I’ve had with other budget smart TVs in the past. Sound: The built-in speakers are decent for casual viewing — dialogue is clear and volume gets loud enough for a bedroom or small living room. That said, like most flat TVs, bass is limited. Pairing it with a soundbar makes a noticeable improvement, but it’s totally usable on its own. Build Quality & Setup: Setup was straightforward and took less than 10 minutes. The TV feels lightweight but not flimsy. The stand is stable, and wall mounting was easy. After months of use, there are no issues with panel uniformity, dead pixels, or connection problems. Ports & Connectivity: HDMI inputs have been reliable for a cable box and a streaming device. Wi-Fi connection has remained stable with no dropouts. Who This TV Is Perfect For: • Bedroom or guest room TV • Budget-friendly main TV for casual viewing • Kids’ room or secondary space • Anyone who wants Fire TV built-in without spending a lot Who Should Look Elsewhere: • Home theater enthusiasts • People who prioritize deep blacks or high-end HDR • Gamers looking for 120Hz or advanced gaming features Bottom Line: For $149–$199, this TV delivers excellent value. It’s reliable, easy to use, and performs exactly as advertised. If you go in expecting a solid everyday 4K TV — not a premium display — you’ll be very happy with it. ⭐ Highly recommended for the price.

    Office tv

As someone who needed a compact TV for my home office, I picked up the Insignia 24-inch F40 Series Smart Fire TV, and it’s been a solid performer so far. Priced affordably around $100-120, it’s a great value for a Full HD (1080p) screen with built-in Fire TV smarts. Picture Quality: The 1080p resolution delivers clear, vibrant images that look sharp for its size. Colors are natural and balanced, especially when streaming shows on Netflix or Disney+. It’s not going to blow you away like a premium 4K set, but for everyday viewing like news, movies, or even using it as a PC monitor, it’s more than adequate. Brightness is decent for well-lit rooms, though it could struggle in very bright environments. Sound: The built-in speakers with DTS Virtual-X provide surprisingly immersive audio for such a small TV. It’s clear and loud enough for a bedroom or office without needing a soundbar right away, but if you’re an audiophile, you might want to add one for better bass. Smart Features: Fire TV integration is seamless—Alexa voice control lets you search for content, control smart home devices, and launch apps effortlessly. It supports all major streaming services, and setup was quick with Wi-Fi or Ethernet. No lag issues for me, though some users mention occasional sluggishness on similar models. Build and Setup: It’s lightweight and easy to mount or place on a stand. Ports include three HDMI inputs, a USB, and composite for older devices. The remote is intuitive, and over-the-air channels work well with an antenna. Cons: Viewing angles aren’t the best—if you’re off to the side, colors can wash out a bit. Sound quality is good but not exceptional, and it’s not 4K, so don’t expect ultra-high detail for larger content.

We bought this TV in August 2025 to use in the master bathroom for streaming, unconnected to our cable system. It sits on the 14" ledge between the oversized tub and the shower stall. We wanted to listen to the news and shows while shaving and showering. We wanted the smallest standard size TV with good sound and picture for the least money. Now, in football season, we also transport it to the living room, placing it on the coffee table in front of us between us and the living room TV, to watch two games at once, since we each have two favorite teams. Insignia has two 24" Insignia TVs, the basic model and the enhanced 1080 picture and enhanced sound model, so for an extra $10 we sprung for the latter and it was well worth it. In the bathroom, the sound is excellent, loud and clear enough to be heard over the sound of the shower with no distortion when played at the loudest level. In the living room, it is played with no sound, just captions, so the picture is the thing, and the picture is excellent, much better than expected. Being placed lower than the 65" Samsung Q90 and closer to the seating, we put both on the same channel for football to compare picture quality. The picture is the same quality as the Samsung, believe it or not! At just under 7 lbs, it is easily transportable and has kind of a ledge near the top in the back that works well as a handle. We have a guest room 32" TCL and this TV kills the TCL in picture and sound, as well as in ease of use and speed warming up for streaming. It has exceeded expectations in every respect.

This tv has worked great in our gym area for a few weeks now. Pairs quickly with phone for workouts. This cheap tv seems faster than our $700 Sony TV and our $1300 LG TV. It is super light which was nice for hanging on a wall. Would buy it again, would maybe go bigger to a 32" if they have it though.

Very decent TV for the money. Lot's of functionality. Doesn't need a sound bar like some other smaller TV's. Picture and color look good right out of the box. Whether you love or hate Amazon, my experience is Fire TV's have the absolute best channel guide. It's easy to use this TV and just two popular apps and have over 1000 channels to choose from. I tried another brand in this size, it sounded like it was stuffed in a pillow and buried in a coffee can, the audio was worthless, it was soo painfully slow that I'd miss 15 minutes of a show just waiting for it to find my selection. It cost more than the Insignia and lasted less than a year. The Insignia has been far better than I imagined it would be at a great price, let's just see how long it lasts.

Bought this to hang in my ice fishing shack. Easy UI, plenty loud for what I am using it for, and easy to mount on a wall. For how small it is, the picture is great, settings are easy to change, and connectivity is great. Having blue tooth is a plus as I usually use external speakers, but the built in speakers sound just fine for its footprint. Please note: I own three of these tv's and 2 of them have the same bolt pattern on the back for mounting. This most recent one I purchased, however, has a larger bolt pattern and I had to purchase a larger mount. This isn't a con, but something I wasn't expecting. Hope it helps!

Great 24" full HD FireTV, very little app storage

For a full HD 24" FireTV smart TV for just $75, I don't think you can do any better than this. My home is all run by Amazon Alex devices, so I look for FireTV over Google or Apple alternatives. Most 24" televisions are only 720P, and that's no good if you also want to be able to use your 24" television as a computer monitor. I need mine to serve double-duty, so I'm only interested in 1080P. I don't think you can find a smaller size 1080P TV with an HDMI input, and this one ticks all the checkboxes. With built-in speakers, it's kind of the perfect double-duty small display. I took off a star, because despite the thing working perfectly, you should be aware of its limitations. First, buy this thing directly from Best Buy. Do not buy it through Amazon. If you buy it through Amazon you lose all price-protections if it goes on sale within two weeks after you buy it. You can pick it up from Best Buy or have them ship it to you, but don't buy it from Amazon. It also costs less if you buy it from Best Buy. The FireTV OS and apps work perfectly BUT, this television has VERY LITTLE storage for storing apps. It came with a web browser, and I needed to install my fiber-optic company's streaming app to watch subscription television, and I have a Plex server, so I needed to install the Plex app. I think I installed the ESPN app too, to watch ESPN+ subscription sports. All of that caused the television to continuously display warnings that it was running short on space, demanding that I uninstall one of my (needed) apps. I uninstalled the web browser to get it to shut up, but there was no other way to get the warnings to stop, despite that all of those apps fit in the storage space. A smart television ought to have enough storage space to install a bunch of apps. This one doesn't. I don't think they list the storage space in the specs, but I'd literally need to add a FireTV 4K Max stick to get the storage I'd need if I used this television for anything more than I do, and that's ridiculous when the TV is already a FireTV smart TV. I uninstalled every app that it allowed me to uninstall, but that didn't free up very much space. So if you plan to install Plex and a bunch of apps, buy a different TV.

Being used as PC monitor for use with recent Windows 11 PC. Previos W10 PC monitor was matched with VGA monitor and new W11 PC connected to HDMI only. Picture quality is excellent, don't do gaming, for my use. Size fits on desk top conveniently. Not being used as TV and was never hooked up to, nor new W11 PC, by wireless to home network. During use sometimes full screen appears with suggestion to connect to Xfinity wireless home network with displayed URL. Remote is needed to remove that screen, keyboard has no affect, and revert back to computing screen. Any suggestions to stop this is welcome. But $70 for use as a monitor is a good bargain.
