Product was good at first until about 2 months in. After 2 months it wouldn’t get the room cold.

Not worth the money. I use this in my enclosed porch and it’s only effective for a small area. Don’t waste your money with this unless you’re trying to cool a VERY small personal space.

I suppose this review isn’t about how the actual product works but about how Best Buy delegates the wear of an open-box item. I ordered this a/c online to pick up in the store. It was a good price for the open box, and it was labeled as excellent. I figured why not after reading what the criteria for considering the item as “excellent”. I picked it up from the store and was a little shocked at the state of the box. It looked like Wolverine had opened it and taped it back together and then pushed it down the stairs. I picked it up on my lunch break, was in a little rush, and also gave it the benefit of the doubt and figured maybe someone opened the box like a jerk but everything is fine on the inside. I got home later that night to unbox it. No. Just no. It was clearly used before. Pieces were broken, one of the caster wheels were missing, the piece that goes in the window to hold the tube was missing, there were crumbs and oil stains in the instruction manual. I had a meltdown. Who at Best Buy in Albany, NY was in charge of inspecting this a/c and considered it EXCELLENT?!?! I went back to Best Buy not even 24 hours after picking it up. The customer service was...annoying. They had no problem taking it back, however, acted as if I was the problem. They asked me if I wanted the refund or to exchange it. It so happened that the new a/c were by the registers and I asked the guy if the price tag on them was accurate for $269 and if so, I’ll get that and pay the difference. He walked about behind the register to look at the price tag (the sale tags that are in the plastic holders), told me no and that it was last weeks sale price. I politely asked if they could adjust it since they still had last weeks sale tag up on display, and he told me absolutely not. I don’t want to discourage people from buying open-box. I was excited to find one that was open-box and deemed excellent for the low price. But I would advise people to maybe open the box while at the store or in the parking lot to make sure nothing it wrong before you get all the way home.

Using this insignia air conditioner in the greenhouse to control the temperature. It works great.
