It’s a little loud, but I rather it be loud and cool. After testing it out in my kid’s room, we ended up purchasing a couple of more.

I find the unit a little loud for the size on the machine, I have had window units that were quieter, but completely satisfied so far, Aug. and Sept will be the hotter times so I hope it does a good job.

Reason for 3 stars is - There is a small leak somewhere, leaves maybe a teaspoon sized, orange tinged water underneath. I'm guessing this is a fluke but obviously, that's not good. - I HAVE to use a drain or it gets full. This is unique to the AC as I've had others in the same room and have others in other rooms that only need to be intermittently drained when it's very humid. So I guess the water doesn't evaporate properly? I didn't return because it still works and it's so heavy and is such a hassle that I've kept it. If it didn't leak, I would have given it 4 stars and I would recommend because I think the leak is probably just a one-off thing.

I keep a bucket for the narrow hose to drain into. Sometimes little to no water comes out, sometimes we've had to empty the full bucket of water out overnight. Works well, you may want to turn it off while sleeping if you don't want to have to get up and check on the water. Otherwise, glad we bough it.

Being portable and able to cool rooms without standard windows was important in my search for a room air conditioner. I wish it doubled as a dehumidifier is my only complaint.

It cools my entire 1BR apartment down. As many other reviewers wrote, it's pretty loud, but not bothersome for me. I put it on the quieter fan mode if I have to take a call. Very satisfied with this purchase so far, especially in comparison to the price of other portable ACs. Hope it lasts.

In summer central AC broke and while waiting for repair I used for downstairs living/dining area - about 5oo sq ft. Perfect. When AC was finally fixed it comes part and rolls into the closet without taking up much room. Does not need to have the screen taken out which is a big plus over some others.
