This machine surprised me. With all the bad press these things get, I had low expectations going into it. Thankfully, after getting it set up in my bedroom, it started cooking almost immediately. I have insulation tape around the hose where it connects to the AC and to the window panel. Because of the humidity in my location, I have a continuous drain setup so I don’t have to worry about draining. It cools my smallish bedroom perfectly.

Works extremely well! I use in my daughter’s bedroom and it cools it down in just minutes. It’s especially come in handy with this hot summer weather, temperatures being in the 90’s and low hundreds haven’t stopped this AC from doing its job! It’s not too loud either which is a plus, my previous portable AC would make very loud noises for some reason and it would scare the bajeezus out of me.

It cools my entire apartment I place mines in the living room area and keep all other room doors open and the air circulating from the product cools the whole place best purchase for an air conditioner

portable air conditioner is great I have had it over a year and it provides great humidification and cooling. Air conditioner is not big and cumbersome and easy to set up.. I’ve bought 2 and looking to buy a 3rd for my extra room

The Insignia Portable Air conditioner was easy to set up and is ideal for that small room that needs air conditioning. The only drawback is the amount of noise that it makes. All other aspects (price, portability, ease of use cooling capacity) are exceptional.

Wish I would have bought this for my additional room years ago. Has transformed it from uninhabitable to the most comfortable room in the home. Draining the system isn’t particularly fun or easy to accomplish but that’s a minor detail.

Great machine! Was easy to install. Directions were very clear. Maintenance free. Just be aware it needs 19 inches clearance from walls etc. so it's an obvious addition to a room, especially with the pipe/vent leading to a window. Has done very well cooling my upstairs room which gets hit during the day. Numerous settings and can also be used as a dehumidifier by leading a pipe into a water receptacle which you'd need to empty. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

Purchase 2 different units. The first one made very loud noises when the condenser kicked in. Then it struggled the entire time running the condenser. The sound was almost as if a car was struggling to turn on. While that noise was going on, it also sounded as if the unit was shutting on and off repeatedly. Ended up getting a second unit from a completely different best buy, this one's better but sounds like it's turning off and on. It's a very hard to ignore concerning noise. Also my bill had shot up almost 250 bucks each month it ran for only 8-9 hours a day. I had an LG portable that ran longer and didn't experience that type of bill hike.

The way my house is designed, the bedroom is unfortunately located right above the garage. During the summer especially the heat gets to be unbearable, this portable AC unit honestly has made it significantly more comfortable in here. Havent had any issues, highly recommend for a bedroom sized room for sure !

I bought this after reading many good reviews about how the unit is very loud BUT cools very well. It is incredibly loud and somehow also does not cool very well. After running it all night while I’m asleep id expect to wake up shivering but instead I’m still hot. I only feel the cool air if I’m standing directly in front of it. From bed I can’t feel the air blowing at all and it’s right next to my bed. Its like it only blows up towards the ceiling (and yes i have it on swing mode, still doesn’t reach me). Follow me sounded like a good idea when I hit the button on the remote nothing happens. Over all it’s better than nothing since it’s the only cooling source in my apartment but if I didn’t miss the return window I probably would have brought this back and gotten a different one.

This portable air conditioner was easy to put the bits together and install the vent in the window. The instructions were very clear. It does a great job in the room for which it was intended.

Great for toddlers bedroom. Not too loud and cools room fast. It is a bit heavy to carry if you live on the second floor. However, I would say it’s about the same weight as any other portable ac.

Bought this ac so i don't have to use apartment ac so much and run up my electric bill. Works great and has excellent features that I've never seen a portable ac have before.

Bought this unit to cool down our bedroom (13x13) during the night as our room gets hot. Keeps it cool and crisp! It does make a fair bit of noise when its cooling, but is quieter when just the fan is running to circulate. It does have a sleep feature but we mostly leave it running throughout the night.

Was a life saver when our AC broke down in the midst of summer! It got so hot in the house that the family was struggling to fall asleep. We put this portable AC into our bedroom and was able to sleep with no problem!

This is an AC unit that I feel is superior to the window units ONLY if you have the space for it. It is very heavy as well. I feel it is better because I think some pollen and air contaminants are better filtered by the time it gets inside as cold air but I cannot scientifically say for sure. I used all the provided taping to really seal that window area and do not plan to move it.

This is so great. I’ve been using this for last two years and it really cools up the room within like five or six minutes so I’m happy with the purchase

Everything I needed. My split air is in the back of the apartment and summer is awful in the living room. This has cooled the room even better than expected! Not too noisy. Easy install.
