Something about the settings that the sound has to be directed to the speakers every time the TV is turned on. It is a pain to have to connect everytime. Otherwise the speakers work fine.

Not bad for price but sound is a little weak and tinny, not much for bass. Not really what I was looking for but might work if you're not using for movies or louder music.

After opening, the knobs on the speakers didn't work. The just spun around. The speakers looked nice and we would have kept if they worked. Had to return. Have to say returning them was easy!

Junk, low volume, hard to stay connected even hard wired

My remote control stopped working even after replacing the battery it still will not work and it can not be replaced the remote is paired with the unit at the factor and a new one will not work....I would not buy it again.

I have a few sets of speakers from JBL, Swan, AudioEngine, Edifier, Klipsch, all great and all different. However, they are all over $400 in price. For $100, I can't say I've heard a better set of powered speakers than these Insignia ones. They also have Bluetooth, which works phenomenally by the way! All different genres of music sound great on these speakers and you do not need a subwoofer. They have plenty of bass. I suggest using them at least 6 inches away from the wall for great bass response. I'm currently running a turntable which happens to have an Ortofon 2m blue stylus with a good external phono, and vinyl sounds fantastic! Fleetwood Mac Rumours, Boston, Hendrix, Lana Del Ray, Vivaldi... it all sounds amazing on these speakers, trust me. If you feed good audio into them, you'll get great audio out of them. The digital music from my phone or any source also sounds amazing. Put these in a small or mid sized room and people will be wondering where you hid the subwoofer! For $106.00 total, I have yet to find a better pair of active speakers in my lifetime, with Bluetooth!!!!! Highly recommended to anyone. They are fantastic! Remote works just fine.

Asked sales person about Bluetooth speakers that could be daisy chained together so speakers could be placed separately. These have to be wired together.

I bought these for a TV in a large living room. I do not have a place for an AVR or amplifier. These speakers fit the space perfectly and are internally amplified... no AVR needed. You can power the speakers on/off using the remote or by clicking in the volume knob on the speaker. I programmed the remote code into my universal remote, so the speakers auto-power on when I'm starting up my system. Easy fix for those complaining about the speakers going into auto-standby. You can also change the input source by clicking in the volume knob or on the remote. The bluetooth has good range (about 40 ft in my house) But for a better solution. You can plug these speakers into an Airport express, Sonos connect, or Chromecast audio. That way you can play music through the speakers via wifi instead of bluetooth and get a more stable and longer range music experience. Bass is surprisingly good for the size of these speakers. It has a subwoofer output, which would be great for adding bass to a larger room. Treble is adjustable and I found it to be very clear and not fatiguing. Overall volume is great. They do distort when cranked to maximum, but they are not meant to be run at that high volume for long. You would want to get larger speakers and amp if you need to shake the whole house. Overall great value and quality. Highly recommended.

Able to purchase these speakers at their lower price point (as their price seems to have bounced up and down on a regular basis over the last few years) and glad we did. They sound great, delivering a lot of sound, especially considering their size, and the treble and bass controls allow you to properly balance out their sound. They look pretty nice/refined as well. Have worked well with both wired and wireless (Bluetooth) devices connected.

Not loud enough for TV. Easy to use, but for TV - no. TV is far lost then these speakers

I have only had the speakers for a week and they have distortion in the sound. I will return them and purchase a receiver with a higher quality of speakers.

I did my research, found that most reviews on the web at Cnet audiofile and other rated this product as high quality, even on Best buy its rated 4.5 Stars, but its crap. Got it yesterday, one they are big so i was planning to return for that reason but then i figured try them and i may like them...well crap, the volumn control spins around and around and zero sound comes out!!

Couldnt use these speakers wirelessly with my roku tv, only if i plug them straight into the tv which defeated the purpose.

Purchased this as a gift. We didn't set it up until February. One speaker will never work. the wiring portal was installed backwards. As a result, one speaker will never function.

These are not surround sound speakers. They wont hook up to a reciever just fyi

Bought in the middle of October 2018, they quit working near the end of May 2019. 7 months is not worth $200 (Or the $100 I paid on sale). They power up, but no music comes out. When they did work, they didn't got very loud either, so when they did work, maybe a 2 out of 5. I'd give them a 0 if I could because I probably used them 20 times total before they died.

Could be better. Needs upgrading………………………………………….

Horrible sound. I returned them after setting them up. The bass would often sound like rough and loud out of tune.

Speakers are fine but Best buy apparently didn't charge me for them in December when I purchased them online and they were shipped to my house. I was charged for them 2 weeks ago a full 3 months after I ordered them AND received them...
