They are always helpful when my hands are full of things and I would not be able to open a regular trash can. And I think it’s good for combating germs also

Another benefit: my dog no longer gets in the trash .

However, I find the sensor height to be perfect, as I don't want it opening unnecessarily as people walk by. Do be aware though that the sensor range is about 6-8 inches.

Hold your hand 4 inches away for about 2 seconds before it recognize. However, the value is there!! I bought this on sale for $20. It is everything it should be and more at that price. Very happy.

It takes two AA batteries and the lid opens quickly and stays open long enough to drop your trash in and closes slowly. I got it while it was on sale and I am extremely pleased with this purchase
