The sensor has a very short range, meaning that I have to bend down and wave my hand directly above the sensor about 2 inches from the face of the sensor itself, somewhat rendering the functionality of the bin itself useless. Having to bend over is not only more strenuous but it is indicative of the quality control issues other users have complained about. Most unfortunate...
