Apartment living requires constant trash removal so a 3 gallon was the perfect size. I used it 5-6 times after getting it all set up - then it died. The last time I tried to use it the top opened 1/2 inch, the green light flashed rapidly, turned off and that was it. It would not turn on again. I tried new batteries - nothing. What a waste of time.
