This one broke ( top does not close ) within 2 months of use . Best Buy online help said I need to make an appointment and come into the store for a trash can repair . This process is pretty ridiculous . Not happy with Best Buy . There has to be an online process .last purchase from BB.

So I tried a second one. It didn't have any physical damage, but it doesn't open and close properly. I've changed out the batteries twice and still doesn't work properly.

Please make sure In the bearing part of the lid, there is no garbage stuck to it. If not works as well, please try to reset the lid.
The 24 hours factory reset goes as well:
Start by switching off the units.
Then remove the batteries from its compartment for a full 24 hours.
During the 24 hours while the unit is off, you can wipe down the sensor with a damp cloth or disinfection wipe.
Once the 24 hours passed you can insert good working batteries to the unit and switch it back on.
