As time passed it began to open slower and slow until it didn't work at all. It didn't even last a year. Do not waste you money. I purchased a power cord and rechargeable batteries to help. I have found a much better one at a lower price. Do your homework.

Sensor is trash

The sensor is trash even with brand new batteries you have to be within a couple inches for it to work. If you have to be that close why not just open the lid yourself?

Hand has to left over sensor to the point of almost touching for 2 seconds then opens and closes itself after a few seconds. The button works to open and then you have to push to close. Kind of defeats the purpose.
