Good air conditioner for price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good air conditioner for price. Heavier than anticipated. Not that quiet either. Not easy to move. My window was too high. Had to put it on top of a container to reach window. Measuring so important before purchasing. Overall a good product.

Insignia portable air conditioner
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this portable air conditioner to replace a window unit. It was easy to set up, the instructions were very clear. It does a great job of cooling the space, about 300 sq ft. It is fairly quiet, certainly less noisy than the window unit it replaced. It takes up more space, but isn't obtrusive. All in all, it's a goid value

Nice and cool!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a pretty big living room and this air conditioner managed to cool my entire apartment! It was really easy to put together and get set up and it doesn’t take up too much space on the floor. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

YES, love it.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Kept our large master bed/bath icy all summer with record-setting heat outside. Were able to vent it easily through our sideways-sliding window. This thing ran for months and months without stopping. It's not the quietest thing ever, but we're the type of people that usually have a fan on for white noise anyway. Never needed condensation water emptied either. Tip: we turned off the bright blue lights only by using the remote (there isn't a button for that on the main unit).

Posted .Thank you, UpNort, for your detailed review! We're delighted to hear that the Insignia™ Portable Air Conditioner kept your master bed and bath cool all summer, even during record-setting heat. It's great to know that you found it easy to vent and that it ran reliably for months. Your tip about using the remote to turn off the bright blue lights is very helpful. We're glad the unit met your needs, even providing some white noise! Jeth | Insignia Support.  https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-300-sq-ft-portable-air-conditioner-white/6393204.p?skuId=6393204

Works as intended and Still going strong!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Writing this review after 3 months of ownership. It's still working and going strong! There is a section of our home that is a converted sunroom and the roof is aluminum in this area. Our home gets really hot because of this and our AC can't keep up with cooling the house with the all the heat coming in during the summer. Bought this unit and It maintain the hot area really well! This unit + our AC helped keep our home cool through the summer. Other times we just run this unit for a couple of hours and don't need to run the A/C at all in our home. Only 4 stars because it is pretty loud but I think all units no matter what brand are going to be pretty loud.

Good and reliable AC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works wonderfully and is very easy to set up and use. So far it's been a year with no issues. Very energy efficient as well, don't see that much of a spike in my energy bills even after using it daily.

Where have you been all my life?
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Being a woman of “a certain age”, I needed more than our central a/c can handle at night. This unit is exactly what the dr. ordered!! We close our bedroom door and our large room quickly reaches 62* and stays there. Perfect for a peaceful and comfortable night’s sleep. We are saving money being able to set our home thermostat higher at night. This unit is pretty big, but has clean lines. It’s very quiet and all lights can be easily switched off via remote. Installation is super simple and not overly noticeable from outside. I can’t recommend this AC highly enough.

Meets Needs
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good enough for the room it was intended as it is compact and stylish. Temperature is stable And consistent to setting. Remote feature is a plus and provides convenience.. Operation however is very loud and quite irritating at night when trying to sleep. Place rubber mating at the base but still noisy for comfort. Noise needs improvement.

Good cooling portable AC

Great portable AC for our needs.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The price is right, easy ordering online and painless pick up process. This portable AC looks like the Toshiba unit and the controls resembles one. The unit is good enough to cool the room very quickly and the installation is rather quick and easy. It is a little loud when the compressor and fan are running but not to a point that it is annoying. Overall, it is a good unit that met my needs.

Good unit, good price
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good room AC. We had new windows installed and did not want to damage the frames or have to deal with the screens. This unit installs easily. It's fairly quiet and has worked without problem. It's pretty heavy is the only drawback. It has several features that you may or may not need or use, but it works well as a room AC.

Good product but LOUD!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this on sale and pretty much a good deal. Set-up was easy and remote control works fine. Cooling my <300ft room was also good. BUT i didn't expect it to be too loud and I have this loud "fan noise" idk from the condenser maybe but it disappears on Fan mode. Anybody also experiences this? Is this normal for this unit?

Good? Bad? Fantastically GREAT! ! ! !
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before buying I was doubtful of working well ability, asking people if they had one or knew someone who did to get their thoughts before spending that kind of money. Not finding anyone I finally said the heck with it. I’m dying of heat in my 2 story brick home and bedroom on the 2nd floor, I broke down and bought one, WOW! ! I should have bought this years ago. Definitely worth the money. I can actually sleep at night. I don’t run it all day long, I turn it on when I get to bedroom in evening and turn it off when I wake in AM. I have a pretty good size room. Old (1919) brick home with 5 bedrooms. I only use it to cool my bedroom while sleeping. I did notice a spike in electric usage but was not as bad as I was expecting. Highly recommend this item.

Great Portable AC
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received my unit this morning and went ahead and hooked it up. This thing cooled my master bedroom down in less than 30 mins. The installation was pretty easy. I see people are complaining that it's loud....loud where? It's not quiet as a mouse, but it's not loud either. I am happy with my purchase so far. Lets see if I can get some years out of it!!

Cool
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great, little unit for my home office. Functions as it should, easy setup, and cools a 10 x 11 room quickly. I've read some reviews about it being loud. While true, and I do have to turn it off for some conference calls, I actually find it to be great "white noise" in case I sleep in my home office, which during this heat wave, I've done regularly.

Didn't like it at first, but now I do
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We live in east Texas. Our central AC went out a few weeks ago when we were having record-breaking heat. I bought two of these, one for the master bedroom, and one for a regular bedroom. I disliked these at first. They did okay in the smaller room, but struggled to get the master bedroom cool during the hottest part of the day. Even though it had the room at 72F in the morning, it would creep up to 86F during the hottest part of the day (it was 107F outside with very high humidity). The room is well under 300 sq ft (it's approximately 180 sq ft) so I had been hoping that it would be strong enough to cool it down more than it did, since it's rated for a much larger room. So I went to a hardware store and bought a Toshiba portable AC which was rated for a 350 sq ft room, hoping that it would be more capable (it was also higher BTU - 8000). It also cost about $100 more than this model. I was disappointed even more in that one, the Toshiba didn't outperform this model, and on top of it the Toshiba repeatedly tripped my breaker. So I switched back to this one and returned the Toshiba. (By the way, the Toshiba and this one were very similar in styles, even the remotes were almost identical. The Toshiba had a few extra features, but nothing worth paying an extra $100 for). When I returned the Toshiba, I purchased a GE window unit, hoping that a window unit might perform better than these portable ACs. It was 8000 BTU, but the box said that it should work on a 15 amp circuit (which is what we have for our master bedroom). According to the website specs for that one, it should have only consumed about 6 amps on average. We installed it, and turned it on, and within 15 minutes the room was so much cooler it was amazing. And then it tripped the breaker. So I reset the breaker and went back into the room. And it tripped it again. And again. And again. Even with nothing else on in the house, it tripped the breaker. So switched back to this Insignia and returned the window unit. So that is our AC saga. Yes, the window AC seemed to work better at cooling the room in peak heat, but it's useless if it continuously trips the breaker. Maybe a lower BTU window unit would have not tripped the breaker, but in heat of over 107F with Texas humidity, it just wasn't in me to keep trying new ACs. These work well enough, especially for the price. At the hottest part of the day, yes, the master bedroom was about 86F which wasn't great, but the other times of the day these worked just fine (when I woke up in the morning my room would be a cool 72). And most of all, these did not continuously trip our breakers (even though they use more amps than the window unit, go figure). Our central AC is fixed, thankfully, but we're keeping these in case we have another emergency.
