Great product. I feel like it keeps my room [200 sq ft] nice and cool all night long. It has a lot of bells and whistles that I dont really understand or need but they are there for people who like to have buttons to push and settings to set. I am more of a "turn on before bed and turn off in the morning" kind of gal myself so I didn't bother with the timers, etc. The sway feature IS really cool but my kitten does not 100% agree just yet. Only downside and reason for the 4 stars is that the window cover piece, the plastic "shield" or whatever you want to call it is a bit jankey in my opinion. The plugs to hold the pieces in place are a bit flimsy and the instructions werent super clear about what foam bits went where. There were what seemed to be an endless supply of foam strips. It was almost comical, I think I must have received too many because there were about 10 of varying sizes in total and I only needed 4 [I think, again, I didnt really understand the foam part of the instructions].. all in all, we have had some pretty hot 97 degree days in MN with some heavy humidity and this bad boi did the trick each night. Its not super loud like other reviews said, its an AC unit, it was what I expected it to be for a machine making cold air. Not a soft bzzzz but a normal AC noise. Its heavy for me, but someone who has upper arm strength might not think so. I like that it has wheels. I have used it about 12x now [about 8hrs or so each time] and haven't had to empty whatever reservoir there might be for condensation. No leaks so that's chill since its on carpet in a rental.

I was lucky to purchase this Insignia portable A/C unit for a special Deal of the Day rate and I couldn't be happier with it. The big advantage these portable units have over window A/C units is that they work for both vertical and horizontal windows. The unit is pretty powerful and capable of cooling a fairly large room quickly. It is a little loud for night-time cooling, but is fairly quiet during the day. Assembly is very simple and the unit looks pretty modern and stylish. I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you can get it on sale.

Bought this ac unit to fight the heat. Setting this up was simply and fit like a glove when attaching it to my window. Keeps me cool during the summer heat wave and work better than any other unit ive tried in the past. Can be a little loud but thats better than sweating during the day in my opinion.

We have never used a portable air-conditioner before, but we rent and didn't want the hassle of having to install a regular window unit for our bedroom. This unit works really well at keeping our bedroom extremely cold. Our bedroom is 195 square feet. Some reviews have stated that this machine is noisy but it doesn't bother us. We are the type of people that sleep with a fan on in all seasons. Installation was quite easy. The only negative issue is that it emits a blue light. We are used to having it completely dark.

Being a woman of “a certain age”, I needed more than our central a/c can handle at night. This unit is exactly what the dr. ordered!! We close our bedroom door and our large room quickly reaches 62* and stays there. Perfect for a peaceful and comfortable night’s sleep. We are saving money being able to set our home thermostat higher at night. This unit is pretty big, but has clean lines. It’s very quiet and all lights can be easily switched off via remote. Installation is super simple and not overly noticeable from outside. I can’t recommend this AC highly enough.

We’ve been comparing portable ACs for weeks. We almost went for another known and trusted brand which was more expensive but for the same BTU. We needed to buy 2 AC units for the rooms that we have and decided to go with this. It didn’t disappoint. It is loud but it cools the room perfectly. Remote control is a bonus as it measures the temp from where the remote is located and adjusts the thermostat with your setting preference (not just where the AC unit is located). Also, installation is easy.

So i just bought it but... I had to escape a dangerous roommate and found a new apartment quick. The unit was in the basement and the day I toured it was rather cool. I liked the unit, signed the lease, and moving in July 5th realized there was no AC! This is Cincinnati with crazy high humidity and temps in the low 90s. It was miserable; however, I left my previous roommate situation after having lived there 3 weeks meaning I had moved twice in a month! Having paid two rents and two deposits, I tried getting by without AC for a couple weeks but the unit quickly got so hot it was making me sick. Ok, I'll get to the point now. For the lower price, I'm very impressed with how fast it cooled my small apartment! Super excited to use the dehumidify mode once it's a little cooler out and I won't miss the AC function for a bit. I have back and chronic pain and illness issues. Living alone and not having someone readily available to help me install the unit, I was nervous. The box it arrives in was challenging for me to move and took a while, BUT it literally took 10 or 15 minutes from unboxing to playing with settings using the remote and cooling my place. And the wheels are so smooth, the unit is so easy to move around! This was a little rambling, and it's very early, but I'm thrilled with this item!

Great Ac, blows out cold air. The ac unit also was easy to install and has an option to turn the led light off on it so it doesn't shine at night. The ac is a little louder and the only con is that it shuts off when the room is too cold (we dont like this feauture because its loud when it turns back on).

This portable air conditioner saved us last summer. It cooled the entire first floor of the house during the a three day heat wave. It was easy to set up although we decided to make a door jam to have it sit in our sliding glass door instead of the window. That took some work to seal the door but it was cool as a cucumber within 30 minutes, I highly recommend this.

I was surprise at how easy it is to use and also how quickly it cools my studio. The old AC wall unit just wasn't cooling my studio any longer and I decided to try a portable AC unit since I plan to move again. This is perfect when I'm gaming since my gaming desktop tends to heat up my room. Now with this portable AC, my room don't get hot any longer. It's mostly plastic exterior so don't expect it to last a lifetime. Remote control is easy to use as well. Highly recommended

It does very well for the size and power for an average room in normal to hot temperatures. Extreme temperatures it does not cool as well (not a major issue because my other LG unit is much more powerful yet shows the same limitation) Power plug does not get warm. The remote is great. Extremely easy to set up (thank you insignia) My only real con is the display lights. They are Very bright at night.

Writing this review after 3 months of ownership. It's still working and going strong! There is a section of our home that is a converted sunroom and the roof is aluminum in this area. Our home gets really hot because of this and our AC can't keep up with cooling the house with the all the heat coming in during the summer. Bought this unit and It maintain the hot area really well! This unit + our AC helped keep our home cool through the summer. Other times we just run this unit for a couple of hours and don't need to run the A/C at all in our home. Only 4 stars because it is pretty loud but I think all units no matter what brand are going to be pretty loud.

Our AC broke on a 90° day in our 2,000 square foot home, i bought 2 of these. One for the living room on main floor and one for 2nd floor bedroom. They work amazing!! Our AC is fixed now but we still use them as fans! They are also dehumidifiers as well. I highly recommend. Even having our AC fixed it still nice to know we're covered.

We bought this portable air conditioner to replace a window unit. It was easy to set up, the instructions were very clear. It does a great job of cooling the space, about 300 sq ft. It is fairly quiet, certainly less noisy than the window unit it replaced. It takes up more space, but isn't obtrusive. All in all, it's a goid value

Good air conditioner for price. Heavier than anticipated. Not that quiet either. Not easy to move. My window was too high. Had to put it on top of a container to reach window. Measuring so important before purchasing. Overall a good product.
