Broken after 2 years DONT BUY

After just two years of use, it completely stopped blowing cold air, rendering it useless. I took proper care of the unit, cleaning the filters regularly as instructed, yet it still failed on me. For a product at this price, I expected much more durability. To make matters worse, the store refused to give me a refund, leaving me stuck with a broken product. I would not recommend this air conditioner to anyone. Don’t waste your money on something that’s going to stop working after a short period of time, no matter how well you maintain it.

Returned both units

Also you have to poor out water constantly and watch levels of whatever you place the water in. While returning I saw 3 other preople returning different sizes of this unit.

This AC blows and not in a good way.

I prefer a unit that blows the air from the front. My old AC unit works so much better than this one. If you decide to buy this unit, take it home only to find out you do not care for it either make sure you return it within 15 days. If you are not a paid Best Buy member you only have 15 days to return any item purchased. Needless to say I will not be shopping with Best Buy anytime soon.

Posted .Hi, thanks for your review. The AC will stop working when the sensor reach the setting temperature and will start work when the temperature higher than the setting temperature. it is a way to save energy.

Will stop cooking after 2 months

Waste of money.

I let it run for 8hrs and my room is nowhere near cold, I have to sleep with a fan near me to keep my cool. Mind you, I’m a college student so spending $300+ on an AC unit is a huge expense especially when it doesn’t work how you want it to.

Would not recommend

I also live in Seattle where it does not get hot often and I did not use it often. I asked Best Buy if I could exchange it or pay to get it repaired (I still had receipt) and they said it was not possible. I would not recommend this unit.

Better options

If your window can fit a window ac in it, buy that kind instead. My small 6,000 btu window AC cools so much better than this big piece of junk. It blows cool air but the room feels warm.

AC turns off and on in its own, doesn’t blow cold

I have a small room in my house the AC turns off randomly and when it turns back on it’ll push out air that’s not cold. The AC is cleaned frequently and turned off when not in use not sure why it won’t stay cold and on. Purchased less then one year ago and only used for 2.5 months… should be working better!!

All done buying anything insignia. used a total of 4 months.

Best Buy Membership for return period.

Insufficient cooling for a small room in summer
