I've used this unit a few times, it is very easy to set up and use. I keep it as a back up, I have central air in my home but you never know. I used it during a power outage spanning several days plugged into my generator, and I've lent it to a friend to use while their central air was being repaired. The remote is a little spotty, but I find that I don't use it much.

Nice machine. Wasy to assemble and operate. Cools quickly.

I have been using this for about 3 weeks now, and so far it's been a great purchase. My room is about 300 sq. ft. in size, and I usually keep it set at 72 degrees with an average outside temp of 90. This makes the room pretty cool, although you can set it lower if you want it really cold. I drain it about once a week or so, and it usually drains about a coffee mug's worth of water,although I think you could skip it if you don't live in a humid area. It's resonable quiet although it's not in my bedroom but I think I could sleep with it on as there is a sleep mode.

Easy to set up, does its job wonderfully. Would purchase again.

Had an LG portable and a Black and Decker unit although the B&D didn't last long I was worried the Insignia would also breakdown since it was inexpensive. I was wrong used this all summer running almost 24/7 I would say it was more than I expected cooling the room and I hope next year it performs the same.

While it was a bit of a headache to set up, this portable air conditioner has served me well all summer, keeping me comfortable in my small office when the temps outside were topping 100 daily. It does require the addition of a small hose if you want it to drip outside. Just make sure the unit is higher than the hose.

It’s as loud as you’d expect an AC to be but this unit has kept my bedroom like ice which is great for sleeping after nightshift.

My A/C went out when the temp in Texas was 99° F. I had to do something so I ended up buying 2 portable units. I bought this one and a Toshiba. Without question the Insignia worked as well as, if not better than, the Toshiba. It did a wonderful job of keeping the air cool enough to survive with a heat index of 108° and could keep it really cool when the temperature got down to the upper 80’s/low 90’s. My A/C is fixed now but this is staying in my closet in case of another emergency.

Purchased this unit as my previous unit got damaged due to bad weather and even though it worked perfect I dont like the fact that it doesnt have a bucket for draining the water like my other one, therefore, I returned it. Overall unit works as described and worked flawlessly, kept the room super cold & its quiet.

We have had this for a few weeks. We use it in my kids' bedrooms. It is very easy to set up and the remote is great to have to adjust it while in bed. The only problem is we can't have both units on at the same time because it uses a lot of power and has tripped the breaker. I'm not sure if a smaller unit would not cause this issue but so far we have been able to keep both rooms cool alternating usage. We did get it while it was on sale for $250.
