This is my first portable a/c unit so i dont know if my expectations where high, if the valley weather is too much for this unit, or if my unit is just defective. The unit has been running for a few hours. Outside temperatures is 108f. Room temperature maintains between 85f and 88f. Even at night when temperatures drop to mid 80s outside, the unit doesn't get the room to 75f. So all in all, the unit will get the room temperature more fresh than outdoor temperatures. Yet it will never get to feel a good fresh to cold feeling. I waited a couple weeks to see if the unit just needed to break in and that wasn't the case. To make matters even worse, i thought best buy still had the 30 day return policy and they don't. It's down to 15 days. So now I'm stuck with this unit.
