It was long over due for me to purchase a portable air conditioner. I’ve had my unit for almost 3 months now and it’s great I’ve been doing research for a few months prior and I still couldn’t make up my mind and I had the Insignia in my cart along with others that I thought where top rated. When I purchase any product I always factor in the reviews. I reached out to customer service chat to help make a decision and found what works best for me, I finally pulled the trigger to purchase and I can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner. It keeps my room freezing cold, which is great to beat the summer heat. Setting up was fairly easy I did struggle attaching the panels together for the window, but once I figured it out it was a piece of cake.I highly recommended buying, you won’t regret.

This product does cool my living and dinning room. I don’t like the fact that it drains water on the outside. Another unit I had drained from the inside. Overall its a good AC.

10/10 definitely recommend!! Doesn’t take up much room and is rather quiet. I barely notice it when I have it on but definitely cools efficiently and effectively! Was also delivered super quick! Great price also!

Very nice, solid build. It does the job of cooling down the room quickly. Simple setup porting to the window. More than enough accessories are provided and are of good quality. This is way more preferred to a window unit! Really, the only issue it has for me is the cover vibrating (when the compressor kicks in.) Adding a little mass to the sides (mass-tape) quiets it right down. I haven't used all of its modes - I just start it cooling and walk away. It's standing on a board, not carpet, and it rolls very easy. For that reason, I prefer to use the remote. The remote is easy to read and is kept at the other end of the room. It comes with a clear hose to drain any water down to a bin. It's hooked up but hardly anything, if anything, drains out. At the end of June when the humidity climbs there might be more water collected.

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that the unit is performing well and effectively cooling your space. It’s great to know the setup was simple and that the included accessories met your needs. We appreciate you sharing your experience with the vibration issue and your practical solution—this kind of insight is helpful for both us and other users. It’s also good to hear the remote and drainage system are working smoothly for your setup. We’re grateful for your support. – Keith | Insignia Support BBY-ExBrand_Insignia

I was skeptical of buying this portable AC unit because of the comments I had read of this products stating that it is a noisy device. I am here to tell you that it is not loud as all, or at least no louder than the AC unit running in typical house or apartment. It cools the room extremely fast, and is easy to set up and use. No complaints works as advertised

I'm really happy with this unit. I bought it to run off my portable generator during power outages and to have as backup if my central A/C were ever to have a problem. I test ran it for three days in the master bedroom and it produced a ton of cold air, but it was starting with air that was already cooled. It produced very little condensation in Houston humidity, but again, it was starting with already cooled air. The best feature is the window kit, a very nicely engineered, attractive piece that is easy to install. The only thing that I don't like about the unit is that it is a single hose, not a double hose. I was willing to have a single hose unit for temporary use, but I would never buy one for permanent use. I would have been willing to pay more for a double hose unit, but there weren't any in stock and there was a hurricane on the way.

I bought this primarily for my living room and it is LOUD. However, I accepted that until I decided to check my electric bill. My usage more than TRIPLED in the one day I had it on so now I am mostly using it for guests. I also decided to switch it to my room on a particularly hot night and it was so loud, that I maybe got two hours of sleep. Since it was on auto, it keep powering down and then powering back on, each time waking me up in the process (and I'm not a light sleeper). If you can afford the extra in your electric bill and don't mind noise, then I would probably recommend it since it actually does cool down the room fairly quickly.

    Cooling down the house

The installation instructions were easy to follow. It would be best to do a full plan before putting down the foam tape. The foam tape provided was VERY sticky, so sticky that when it stuck to my hands the foam ripped. The installation instructions assumes all windows are sorta the same and well the window where this was installed had a few lips which made the foam placement different than the instructions. This cooled down the house very well, it only took 30 mins. I also used screen material on the vent going outside so that bugs will not be able to crawl into the duct into the machine.

This product has been a great buy for our home where it gets very hot during the day. The installation was simple, and the AC is extremely cool which I love and my wife turns up. I highly recommend this to anyone, as it actually easy to move to another room when we have to.

I bought this because my 10 y/o 12,000 BTU Sharp portable AC unit was working OK, but the exhaust hose was splitting apart from old age and 1 of the casters broke off. Also, it eventually started to leak. This Insignia unit is easy enough to set up, cools OK, but is very loud, whereas the Sharp was fairly quiet. I have to turn this one off to watch TV, which I consider a pain because we are heading into July, with extremely hot and muggy days and nights. As for the electric bill, I haven't used it long enough to see the difference.

Bought a few of these and they have been working great! They cool the rooms quickly and have not needed to be drained - which was most important to me. Their size is reasonable for the rooms they are in, too.

It's a little bit heavy, but it cools extremely well and is relatively easy to set up. Definitely easier than a window unit. The automatic shut off for the water drip pan is also a great feature, if you are unable to set it near a drain.

Great room air conditioner. The window exhaust kit was easily the best quality and easiest to install of any I have worked with. Every window kit I have used in the past was difficult to keep in the window unless you mounted it to the window frame. This one took less than 2 minutes to configure, felt very secure in the window without mounting, and has remained secure with zero adjustments since the original installation. This air conditioner has worked significantly better than other units with the same BTU. The follow-me feature of the remote is a huge plus. It gives you the option of using the remote as the thermostat rather than a sensor mounted on the unit. The only strange thing is the water tank never accumulates any condensation.

This air conditioner is great for my master bedroom. I really like that it has different settings and a remote. I minus one star because when I use the remote it changes the settings on the a.c an I can’t adjust it with remote I physically have to do it. So I only use the remote to turn on n off the air conditioner. Otherwise it’s great. A little noisy but I expect all air conditioners to be noisy so no problem for me. I’m unsure if I am just not using remote correctly or it’s just weird but that’s my only problem with the a.c
