Bought this product to beat the heat during the summer months and it has really helped. However, this is a warning to those who expect this product to cool your ENTIRE home. When they say 350 Sq. Ft. they mean it. We installed it in our living room (largest space in our 800 Sq. Ft. home) and it does a great job cooling that area, but it doesn’t really extend beyond there. It does cool the overall temperature of the rooms just off the living room, but not enough to be effective. So again, if you want to have a specific room to be cooled off, this is the product to get. In terms of installation, we have a side to side window, so it was kind of a pain. The thin grey sticky strips they provide are not the best quality and tore the moment we tried closing the window, to test if that was even possible in case it rained and the window needed to be closed. We ended up using the non sticky foam strips to insulate as best we could and called it a day.

Nice and compact. Blows cold air immediately. Easy to use and set up.

Worked as advertised. Kept it cool as I hoped. A little noisy. But i would rather be cool and noisy than hot and quite.

rescue A/C unit. our central A/C unit didn't work on the 1st startup of the season and cooling is needed for the WFH arrangement. placed an online order, picked up at a local store, easy install & could say how cool is that!! the store experience was exceptional, much appreciated when the BB rep loaded the unit into the car. the new A/C is a fine unit, don't hesitate to buy it.

This works well, while being no noisier than a window a/c unit. I would prefer dual hose so I choose where air gets in from the outside. Due to mounting inequities of mobile home windows this is better than damage (rain water) caused by a window a/c install. Older mobile home windows are on the outside and storm windows are on the inside, open the window, leave screen in, put in the adapter and hook up the hose. A/C here we go, it cools my kitchen/living area, a ceiling or other fan does help circulation.

I had to wait a week to get my AC repaired during a pretty nasty heat wave. I bought 2 of these to keep the house cool. I ended up only needing 1 of them, as I already had 1 for the upstairs. It kept the house at a manageable temp during that week. I have a 2-story home that should have 2 systems, but they only put a single 5-ton system in. So, one of these is used to keep the upstairs cool on really hot days to keep some of the load off of my Central Air system, and it does great. One of these days I'll update the system I have, or add another split system, but right now it's now in the budget.

The floor unit works perfect for the room it's in! Cools the room quickly and efficient. Would have given it a 5 stars, but the exhaust hose gets really warm.

This is a really good little portable AC unit, especially for the price. I bought it to replace a 12,000 BTU unit, and this does nearly as good of a job as my old unit that was twice the size. The window insert is high quality and seals off heat better than my previous unit, as well. These are always going to be noisy since they run indoors, but it gets the job done in 100 F degree heat outside.

The AC went out in our upstairs condo in the early spring. While we wait for the new unit (harder to find these days) we needed something to keep the place under 78 degrees. We knew the Insignia was cheaper than others, which was important since we hope to have central AC back soon. Because of this, we were especially happy with the quality. It's fairly quiet, pumps out a good volume of air, and the attachments aren't as flimsy as others. Sure, it won't cool all 1100 square feet, but the living room is finally acceptable. As a bonus, the dehumidifying is exceptional. It pulled over a gallon of water in its first 8 hours of use. The remote is fairly straight forward and has a feature to check the temperature from where you're sitting. It's an excellent buy, especially if you're in a jam.

Wow, this has to be the easiest set up for a portable air conditioner i have had yet. I have bought others in the past from other stores that took longer to set up and build quality was not high. Also i noticed alot of other places had alot of damaged product from mishandling. When i purchased it the staff also recommended i put it upright for atleast a day just to not damage internal components. Im really glad they tokd me this and went the extra mile.

Needed to cool down an apartment after the main AC went bad. It works so well, installation was easy, up and running in half an hour. Cool the whole 500 sqft apartment on 90 degree plus days down easily, quiet and also remove humidity well. Only used one for 2 weeks to wait for main AC replacement so I do not know on the longevity.

Central air conditioner down? Buy one of these. It's portable. It works great. Don't expect to cool a 2000sq ft house with it. It's for a 350 sq ft room. Take some measurements. Do your research. As far as performance and value of this unit is concerned, it is stellar. It kept our living room cool while our house unit was down in July/August in the Midwest, where the temperature index was 100+F degrees. It works as well as one could hope for. Don't let the Insignia brand scare you. We have other equipment of theirs, and they have all been great...as good as any other brand. And they don't require megabucks to purchase.

I walked into my local Best Buy, already knowing what I wanted, so I informed the welcome desk clerk that I was hoping to purchase this Insignia 350 sq ft portable air conditioner and he immediately got on his phone and called for one to be brought to the cashier. I was in and out of the store with amazing service from all who helped in less than 10 minutes! The appliance was very easy to set up in my horizontal sliding window and just in time for it to be needed to cool down my living space. It is simple and effective and well worth the expense.

Works fine, cools ok, little on the noisy side. It is a value for the price.

Works great. Really helps until we can afford more insulation and possibly a new ac. I did buy a large disposable baking sheet to place under it because it leaks at the bottom. I would've returned it for another one, but we really need it right now. I do recommend it, leak and all. I just use a towel and soak up the water from the pan occasionally. The drain barely has anything as a result.

Being on wheels and the easy window vent kit makes this air conditioner extremely versatile. Easily move to any room needed. We initially purchased when waiting for our central air to be repaired. Easily cooling the main level of our house. Noise level was minimal and a couple days of constant running before the reservoir required emptying. I would recommend this for anyone needing a better option than a bulky window air conditioner sticking out of your window!
