Needed to cool down an apartment after the main AC went bad. It works so well, installation was easy, up and running in half an hour. Cool the whole 500 sqft apartment on 90 degree plus days down easily, quiet and also remove humidity well. Only used one for 2 weeks to wait for main AC replacement so I do not know on the longevity.

This works well, while being no noisier than a window a/c unit. I would prefer dual hose so I choose where air gets in from the outside. Due to mounting inequities of mobile home windows this is better than damage (rain water) caused by a window a/c install. Older mobile home windows are on the outside and storm windows are on the inside, open the window, leave screen in, put in the adapter and hook up the hose. A/C here we go, it cools my kitchen/living area, a ceiling or other fan does help circulation.

Insignia - 350 Sq. Ft. 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner When I bought mine, I was having a serious issue with my home's air conditioning unit. This one met the need at the time. It allowed me to have one cool space in my house while I worked on the situation with my air conditioning unit. I like that it can get a room really cold if you keep the door to the room closed. It's not hard to get it up and running, either. If you want to move it from room to room, the wheels will make that easy because they roll so easily. Now, don't expect it to cool more space than what the title says. I found the air from it to have an unpleasant odor, even though I keep the water poured out of the top and bottom drain pans. I did not expect the condensation that collects on the top of the unit, and sometimes other spots. You'll probably have to wipe it a lot. Expect it to be really loud, so if you have to sleep with it on, watch TV, work on the computer, or talk on the phone, any of this will be affected. Ok. For "value" I give it a "4-Star" because I see it priced lower than what I paid, and I haven't had mine that long. For "quality," I give it a "4-Star" because of the smell and the noise. For "ease of use" I give it a "5-Star" because of easy installation and easy moving from room to room. I would definitely recommend this item if you should find yourself in a similar situation to mine. I would not recommend it for long-term use.

I purchased this unit for the attic in the garage which has been made into a "loft". It's the perfect size and cools the area with ease, and quickly. The portability allows me to move it easily to another location. Highly recommend.

8000 BTU Just right for my bedroom .I can remotely control the temperature of the air conditioner and set the timer .I can also use it as a fan.

The Insignia portable air conditioner is pretty solid for the price. It’s easy to move around and set up, which is great if you need flexibility. It cools a room decently fast, especially if it’s a smaller space. The noise level is manageable—definitely noticeable but not overwhelming. Overall, it’s not top-tier, but it gets the job done without breaking the bank!

Works great as a cooler. Has a VERY irritating feature, which is a blue light-up LED display — this can’t be switched off, and for use in a bedroom necessitates some MacGyver nonsense to keep it from lighting the room up like a second sun. Hard to believe a human designer made such an error — but otherwise it’s perfect, so.

Perfect if you live in a apartment , cannot sleep with out it helps for those hot summer nights !

Works just as a A/C. Had to watch a video on youtube on how to put the adhesives on because we didnt want to put it on the window when the a/c is removed during fall season. Have realized that shutting it off using remote doesn't always take the first time so having to press power on it two or three times which is why this is being rated at 4 stars.

After installing and using this unit for few weeks I am very happy with the performance of it. It will cold down my room within 15 minutes or less and maintain the room at a comfortable temperature for long time. Also I like the convenient of the on/off timers. The remote control unit is great and have the same features as the once in the main unit. So far is all good.

This ac unit works great ,easy too install. Also if wondering will it cool off area larger then what specs are yes.my area it's in is just under 500 square ft.

Works great when in a small room. Only downside is the exhaust hose is not long enough to reach my window.

Cools nicely. Does not take up too much room and I can install and de-install myself.

I walked into my local Best Buy, already knowing what I wanted, so I informed the welcome desk clerk that I was hoping to purchase this Insignia 350 sq ft portable air conditioner and he immediately got on his phone and called for one to be brought to the cashier. I was in and out of the store with amazing service from all who helped in less than 10 minutes! The appliance was very easy to set up in my horizontal sliding window and just in time for it to be needed to cool down my living space. It is simple and effective and well worth the expense.

Works well as descibed and simple installation. Like the oscillating fan blower feature and gets really cold!

Efficient at cooling the room. Night time mode disturbs sleep with frequent cycling on and off. If your windows are not at the standard height above the floor you will likely need an extra exhaust hose and connector to have the unit at the recommended distance away from the wall without 90 degree bends in the hose.

The a/c works great. Keeps our bedroom nice and cool. I do recommend having a dedicated circuit for this however. This unit pulls almost 12 amps by itself. I read reviews that says this unit is loud but in our experience it is not very loud at all. Installation was straightforward and comes with everything you need however you may need more weatherstripping than what is sent with the unit. It is a heavy unit but it is on rollers.
