Definitely probably would do best in a very open area that is ventilated. Also would definitely hook up to the dehumidifier attachment and drain it.

Unlike other portable ACs I have had this one shuts off completely once it has reached the set temperature. This saves on the energy cost to run it.

However, when we got it going the condenser was rattling around when it kicked in. We looked up a fix but it sounded like a problem that can happen in shipping and not easily fixed. We recommended this unit to a friend and they actually took it back for the same reason. We recommend the Honeywell unit for 450sq ft / 10000 BTU instead.

We got it for our 3rd floor/roof top balcony pass-thru area. We only use it when we entertain in that area. It was a overall good purchase.

I've had only because they've been replaced with warranty but they are too expensive and do not actually cool as well as something of that price should be. You're likely better off with a window unit plus save money
