How to work it properl

But, I have been unable to find out how to switch channels without going through the main screen. I've called the help desk twice and got the same answer - "That can't be done on a fire TV." What?

Iffy at best

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We had trouble with the Voice Input (channel control) since day one but since it worked "most" of the time, and it's a bedroom tv, I didn't think much about it.. Now, March 9, the voice input doesn't work at all, making finding the channel I want very much of a hassle.. There is no way to select a channel directly, you need to got through the menu to tune to a channel if your voice option doesn't work. Now, it's 3 months out of warranty (of course) and that feature doesn't work. Thinking it may be the remote, I ordered a new remote ($26) but that wasn't the issue.. so... NO I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS UNIT, NOT TO FRIENDS, NOT TO NEIGHBORS, NOT TO FAMILY, ------ NOBODY!!

There doesn’t seem to be a fix. I went online to find one, seems many other people have the same problem with this model. Manufacturers suggestions do not fix the problem.

I do not understand why this is happening. I will be returning them if the issue continues. Otherwise I was happy with the purchase

Hope you don't plan on using Hulu...

No matter how many times I've tried to register the device to my Amazon account it simply will not show as a registered device - which means I can't use my CBS All Access that I bought through Prime, and I can't watch any Amazon purchases. I ended up just canceling CBS through Prime and buying it standalone to use on the app. And Hulu... This TV will crash repeatedly if you try to watch Hulu Live. There will be days where it only resets a handful of times while watching, but most of the time it crashes and resets multiple times per every half hour. Any text that is on the screen without a background image will glitch out the screen (which usually ends up with the TV freezing and resetting). This TV is a secondary TV for me, so much of this did not become apparent until after the return period was up. I would absolutely not recommend this TV to anyone. I have a Roku version of this TV that works much better. If I could trade this crappy TV out for a Roku version, I would in a second.

Good tv

There's not one day he doesn't call me to tell me how much he hates it. What's sad is it was a gift and he still complains. Next time I'll toot in an envelope and give it to him.

Hoping to get several years out of this TV.

So far so good.

Buy a different tv

The screen quality is good and the sound is ok, but that's really it. It will suddenly flip to a black screen while you're watching something and the only way to fix it is to unplug the tv and wait like 30secs. Also, anytime it decides to update, it will interrupt whatever you're watching and flip to the update screen. There's no status bar, just 3 dots. Sometimes it takes a couple minutes and other times I can go to bed and it'll still be on that screen in the morning. I definitely wouldn't recommend this tv to anyone.

Not reliable

The remote is unreliable too. For example, some keys will work while others do not. I’ve only had the TV for about 6 months and I’ve taken really good care of it and it’s remote since. I can’t see why this TV has these issues so early on.

Sound issues

Ok tv for the price
