Great Laptop Hub for Traveling

I never store sensitive data on a laptop I use for travel; instead thumb drives store all my data (and thumb drives are never carried in the laptop case but instead go in a zippered vest pocket) so if a laptop gets lost or stolen no important information has been taken. This hub provides four easy to access 3.0 USB ports for quick data retrieval. And since it doesn't plug into the wall I don't have to search the airport to find another wall socket. Compact, lightweight, durable, and easy to use, this hub is the perfect travel companion.

Just plug in your 4 port USB and you can use the 3.0 Hub or even use your 2.0 USB. I can charge my phone, plug in my speaker, and use two additional ports to use the USB ports. Don't have enough USB ports, no worries! Purchase the Insignia™ - 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub - Black and have enough USB ports to get the job done!!

Only bad thing is that it does not leave room for multiple thumb drives. You have to have slim USB connection devices if you want to use all four ports at one time.

Better for Laptop Use than Desktop Use

My only quibble is with the connecting cable which is short and rather stiff. While this is probably ok for laptop use I am using the Hub to more easily access the back facing USB ports on the back of my desktop monitor. The short cable length means it hangs at an angle rather than resting on the desk and the cable stiffness resists positioning other than the way it wants to hang naturally. Operationally this hub is perfectly fine. It just loses one star because its connecting cable does not make it ideal for use with a desktop computer which is a potential risk I knew going in. If the cable were longer and more supple/flexible this would be a 5 Star product.
