It utilizes one USB port to get you four USB ports. Since I don't like wifi keyboards and mouses, I find myself using all 5 ports.

Only problem since the initial purchase is that sometimes it doesn't connect the card reader fully but other than that it's great!

It works okay so far. My only issue with it is that the USB cord to plug it into a port on my PC is VERY short. This might work well if you're working off a laptop on your desk, but not so great for a PC. It's just dangling down from the USB port I plugged it into. But it was cheap, so can't complain too much.

Sacrifice one USB Port, gain 3 technically. Worth it!
