My mistake was that I needed a 'powered' USB hub and this was not. It does however provide additional USB connections if that is all you need.

My computer sadly only has 5 ports which just isn’t enough. This allows me to have everything I need hooked up. Also I don’t have to run an extra power cord for it, it’s pulls straight from my pc
