    External hard drive was pulling enough power to mess with the mouse and keyboard. The powered USB hub solved the problem. And it was inexpensive.

    If you need a hub and not looking to crush your wallet get this. Works well, transfer speeds are decent. Keep in mind if you are using high bandwidth periphs, this is not an externally powered unit.

    Plug and play works perfectly. I didn't need a powered hub since I'm not runnng any large devices that draw huge power. The only gripe is that it has a Prop 65 Cancer and Reproductive Waring. And in this day and age with all our regulatory safeties being turned off and products being cheaply mass produced and brought in from god-knows-where, we can't know if the toxins are insignificant or a major source of contamination. Can't we just make a product that doesn't have some crap in it?

    Our computer did not have enough USB ports, so when I saw this item, purchased it immediately. So nice not to have to constantly eject and reconnect devices. Now I can leave them all plugged in. So far, its working well, no problems.

    I have this plugged into my keyboard and it is currently running: Bluetooth headphones, Camera, charging for the headphones and a phone charger. It works great and im happy with buying thus.

    I like my 4 Port USB very much. It is very important for my digital needs because the computer has only one port available for USB products and I need one for the mouse, one for the keyboard and one for the external portable storage unit.

    I wanted a 1x2 usb port extender, however, I bought a 1x4 usb extender, and I am very happy, it supports 4 connections: 2 disks, audio/microphone, and my dvd drive.
