I usually ran a printer, scanner, mouse, and flash drive but got significant stuttering in the cursor unless I removed one of the other devices. Then after a year or so the 4th port failed completely.

So being a technician I decided to pop it open and see what's going on. From the cable on the inside to where it's soldered to the motherboard it was not properly insulated and I believe it was shorting itself out from naked wires touching each other (out of the seven wires three were not fully insulated). Also where the light was on the inside the plastic had melted on the inside of the molding. Also there was a burn mark on the back side of the motherboard off of the soldered mount of one of the USB ports. Overall the quality was not very good this thing should have lasted possibly indefinitely if it had just been soldered and insulated properly. For $29.95 it's not worth it. I just grabbed me one from Office Depot for $13.19 Tried to upload pictures but it won't accept them...

HOWEVER, I got a message that more power was required than was available, so I quickly unplugged it, it made a little snap sound and toasted my Terabyte external drive! My laptop shut down completely as well, but thankfully the Geek squad was able to resurrect it.

Turns out the super drive only works if an apple usb-c to usb-a adapter is used. Waste of money for what I was needing.
