It works only intermittently for passing data althiugh fine for charging.

But it does NOT work to connect the phone to Android Auto in my 2020 Lexus RX (nor did the cable supplied by Samsung, by the way).

Many companies are deceitful and still trying to sell you old chargers and cables that don't work. This cable sucks. I mean you can plug it in and the phone says it's charging, but it doesn't carry enough juice to charge a modern phone in any useful way.
