On the package for this device, one see "BRAIDED CHARGING CABLES" and "USB-C TO USB CHARGING CABLES". ... as if this cable had to power wires only, not the data lines. Sometimes one finds cables like this. On this website, this product is called "USB-C to USB-A Charge-and-Sync Cable", with sync meaning the cable carries data also (an actual USB standard compliant cable). When tested, the cable that was in the box I bought does carry data. Therefore: -- the title on the website is accurate. -- the title on the package is inaccurate / incomplete.
