Seems Great, Doesn't Last Long

No damage, no over-use, just doesn't seem to last very long. Seems like a great TV until you realize you'll have to replace it sooner than you probably want to. Repair options offered by Best Buy are not much cheaper than the TV itself.

Fire TV settings are terrible

Not that I expected anything amazing from a TV at this price point but watching a dark TV show like Game of Thrones really shows how bad the spots of darkness appear. Very splotchy. Even turning the backlight down all the way didn't help. The real reason for the one star review has less to do with the hardware of the TV and everything to with the Fire TV software. You cannot stop the TV from going to sleep if it's paused for 20 minutes. If you pause your TV show to go let the dog out and you're gone for over 20 minutes, your TV will turn off. There is literally no user accessible setting to change this time. Amazon is a billion dollar corporation and they can't even produce a TV that will stay on until you turn it off. I don't know if they intended this to be a safety feature or what, but this has has been a known issue with Fire TV for years and I had to dig through the internet and install 3rd party software in order to essentially hack my own TV and change the sleep timer. So, avoid buying a Fire TV. Get a Roku TV.

I am aware that the situation with your 43" Fire TV can be frustrating. However, it is important to consider that all Fire TVs come with an energy saving mode from factory that cannot be disabled since it is not part of the sleep mode feature. As well, we do not encourage our customers to modify the products either hardware or software since it voids the warranty.
