    NOT ACCESSIBILITY FRIENDLY (Deaf)

    This TV is not accessibility friendly for deaf individuals and does not meet today's accessibility standards. Even with the closed captioning feature turned ON, the closed-captioning does NOT WORK for live programs my mother watched, EVEN THOUGH THOSE PROGRAMS ADVERTISE THAT THEY PROVIDE CLOSED CAPTIONING TO VIEWERS. After calling Amazon, they said it is up to the programs to provide closed captioning, but they had no explanation for their product not working even though the programs themselves openly advertise and label themselves as providing cloaed captioning to viewers. When trying to explain this problem to a "specialist" in Best Buy sales/marketing dept over the phone, they kept talking over me without listening. They said it is up to the programs to provde closed captioning, and when I tried to explain that the programs my mom was trying to watch advertise that they provide closed captioning, and that the problem was with the product and not the programs, I was HUNG UP ON. I had to return this TV and purchase a different brand that ENDED UP WORKING WHEN THIS PRODUCT DID NOT.

    it would appear one of two things; I'm too stupid to set this TV up or it is defective. I know I'm not stupid!! This TV is for my brother who has Down Syndrome, Advanced Alzheimer's and recently suffered a stroke which left him hearing and vision impaired. But the only thing that makes him happy is to watch his Elvis DVDs and be able to manage the TV himself. Hard to do when the TV cannot be set up properly. Then, I finally request a human being to come check out the TV and I don't even get the opportunity to get to choose a good time for me to be sure my brother is awake. Didn't know there is no direct line to Best Buy either, just some bot who is connected to the Geek Squad. This is what progress has done; no longer cares about decent customer service.

    I really wanted to like this since it seemed like such a great deal on paper. The fire tv software makes controlling this Insignia TV settings a slow nightmare. The tv also will not turn off when you use the remote to power off, it just puts on a screensaver. This took hours to try to turn off with no luck, as well as getting the HDMI-CEC to negotiate correctly with other devices. The settings are limited as it is. After troubleshooting, I figured it needed a reboot. Oh boy. Do not try factory resetting this. It got into a boot loop right away, and bricked the entire product. Aside from that, screen quality was basic, panel was bleedy at the edges. Without good firmware and software this TV isn’t a great pick. There are brands with their own in-house software and chips like Samsung, at maybe $50 more on sale, which does what it’s supposed to do. You get what you pay for in this case.

    This tv has lag/ delays for instance the mute symbol is stuck on although there is sound, hitting the button to turn off. When pressing the volume button its slow to turn down or up. Got it for a descent price and its in my kids room so it will do.

    Not a lot of people are talking about this. I got this TV pretty cheap so I cant complain but I wish someone told me if I pause the TV (Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, etc.) for 10-15 min... it automatically turns off. I had this TV set up in my office for my cat but now no matter what I play for her, if the video ends... it turns off. Would not recommend.

    The tv constantly glitches and doesnt work , late response from remote always, i feel like this was a faulty tv , but when it does work the picture is great :)

    Picture is not as sharp. Lag time when initiating channel changes and when powering on and off. I have same brand 50 inch with a much better picture quality

    TV broke within a day

    From the box the remote didn’t work. After setting up the TV, less than 24 hours later the entire unit stopped working. Granted this was all covered by the warranty and Geek Squad came out and fixed it (which was a great experience) but the fact that a brand new tv broke immediately was not great; especially since having Insignias in the past, those being much more positive experiences.
