Customers are saying

Customers admire the 43” Class LED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV Edition TV for its exceptional picture quality, affordable price, and simple setup process. The Fire TV integration is also well-received. However, some users have concerns about the durability of the TV, with reports of short lifespans and screen issues. Additionally, the remote control could be improved for better user-friendliness, and the viewing angle is slightly limited.

This item, the screen became so dim that even with the room lights off, you cannot see the content on the screen. Called geek squad, and someone was sent to check the TV, a repair was ordered but 2 months after, nothing was done. I reached out, and for two consecutive days of calling, i was being transferred from one person to another person with each providing conflicting information. One said replacement has been ordered, the other said it cannot be replaced. For an item paid for, and 5year protection plan. Geeksquad Service is a disaster, I spent money to purchase it and energy to get the service, and pycological stress for being fed conflicting information by Geeksquad team members.

Furious and so upset! Bought this smart TV in Feb 2019 and by March 2020 (little over 1 year) the screen goes. Bought this TV to save $100 or sowhen it was on sale vs another brand, huge mistake. The screen went black all around the TV and flashs every few seconds. Sound is still OK but tried to troubleshoot and with zero luck and though Insignia knows of the exhisting issue they dont offer anything. Amazing how i have TVs in other rooms in my house that have lasted over 6 years! and this peice of trash last 13 months. Best buy stop selling stuff that you know you have issues with! I def should have read up on this TV before i bought cause the internet is filled with Insignias having issues.

I purchased this tv approximately one year ago and it broke down this week. I have televisions I bought 10 years ago that work like a dream so I am quite disappointed that this one broke so soon.

    Great 4K TV/Fire TV combo

This TV combines an Amazon Fire TV box and a 4K TV pretty seamlessly. If you use Amazon Fire TV, the setup will be easy to get through, if not, the learning curve is small. The remote is a fire TV remote with a few extra buttons such as volume, power, and buttons to access some apps directly. After first hooking it up, the TV and the remote each had their own updates. Took under 10 minutes for both to compete, the TV updates, and then the remote. The remote was more responsive after the upgrades. The TV has a black plastic bezel that isn’t to big and it looks nice. The only light is a power light that has the only button on the TV. The button, under the light, lets you change the input, and if held, turns the TV off. For the issues people have questions on. Yes, it is an Amazon remote. I was able to go to the remote section like any Fire TV device to add or remove remotes. I was able to add my Logitech Harmony remote with no issues and it controls the TV fine. Just have to figure out the power button since home to sleep are not options on the TV. You have a separate power button now. HDMI 1 and 2 at least are 4K. I plugged in my Fire TV 4K device and was able to send 4K signals. Yes, the TV will decode OTA and unencrypted channels over cable lines with no issues. You can access the OTA channels directly from the menu and it imports the channel guide for them. So, stations are identified and shows come up on the TV listings. Switching between inputs can be done by going through the menus, but they want you to use voice commands for it. The voice commands worked fine for me. Although small for a 4K TV, 4K sources looked great. Netflix and Amazon 4K shows looked superb. You can change the picture quality for each input the TV has to preset or customizable settings. I sent sound to my home theater in a box through the HDMI ARC channel with no issues, surround sound came through fine. The TV speakers were okay as far as any stereo TV speakers can be. All of the standard Fire TV selections are there, just with inputs and local channels available directly instead of through an app. I hooked the TV up with an Ethernet connection and had no streaming issues, everything was smooth. If you are not a Fire TV user, when setting up, you have the option to go full Fire TV, or a basic setup with just certain apps. So, you don’t have to go all in with Fire TV. Overall the TV is light and was easy to hang on an existing wall mount I had with a 200x200 VESA pattern. You get a remote with batteries, stands with screws if needed and setup guides. The TV is easy to remove since it comes inside the box in a bag with handles on it. Just pull it right out, and start setting it up. So, with on purchase, you get a 4K TV with a built in 4K Amazon Fire TV for a good price.

I wanted to replace my old television set with one that would give me the same menu of stations. I was led to this one and am very unhappy with it. It is a product that I bought which is not the entertainment unit that I expected, it is "smart" which means the the customer who buys it is "dumb". It does not give me most of what my old TV gave me, but gave me a shopping center of ways to spend more money on stations that I have no interest in (hulu, Netflix, YouTube etc.). Be careful before you are sold a bill of goods.

I went into to purchase a tv and got talked into buying this. I had issues with it before the 12 months was up but again I was talked into quick fixes. I bought it I. April 2019 and now just after a year I own a large paper weight. Best Buy will not stand behind this product and will keep it going until the warranty is out on it. After the warranty is out they want to charge more then a new tv to fix it.

This is the 2nd Tv we got. The first one would hang up on apps, and sometimes just turn off for no reason. No other issues on older Insignia we replaced it with. Returned, and Swapped for new 43" (same one) and then couldn't get it to even recognize the WiFi password. Tech support was useless. Treated me like I was stupid when they just tried to sell me another TV brand!!!!!!!!!!

Do NOT buy this TV. Please for the love of god let me help you. I owned it for maybe 4 months total. The Wifi adapter built in was immediately terrible with seemingly random disconnects. Wifi signal was fine, my network was fine. Then there was the performance. Built in processor is super bad- slow navigation, freezes apps often- I'd recommend getting an external Roku. But I can even live with all of that; the real cherry on top was the backlight going out in less than half of a year. These things are not built well. Just get a TCL+Roku combo, I've seen them last forever.

This tv went out already! I purchased in June and no the screen is black, Im not sure if I can take it back or get it repaired. That was what I was on my way to do until I saw that I had not reviewed it yet. So I am warning the next person, I hear a sound and I only had an antenna hooked into it. I am so upset! Also before it went out, for my antenna users, this is the first tv I used in which I can't flip through the Chanels regularly. The local Chanels is in the same fire program so it programs in like other online services.
