Customers admire the 43” Class LED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV Edition TV for its exceptional picture quality, affordable price, and simple setup process. The Fire TV integration is also well-received. However, some users have concerns about the durability of the TV, with reports of short lifespans and screen issues. Additionally, the remote control could be improved for better user-friendliness, and the viewing angle is slightly limited.

Amazing quality!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this tv! This is the 3rd Insignia tv I have had in my home and by far, it is the most impressive. Let's start with picture quality. I could tell the picture was amazing as soon as I turned it on! Watching 4k content on this tv is great. Picture is clear and crisp. I absolutely love that this tv has Amazon Fire TV built in that streams 4k content. Fire TV is what my family and I have been using for watching streaming tv service and movies. The built in Fire TV functionality seems to be smoother and faster than on my other "plug-in" Fire TV Sticks. Built in wifi is very convenient however a wired connection is available if that works better for your home. I love the remote as well. All the Fire TV and regular tv functions at your fingertips. The remote also includes Alexa voice functionality as well. There are several dedicated buttons at the bottom. I like that, but I wish they could be customized to specific apps. We do not us PS Vue but there is a dedicated button on the remote that takes you directly to the app. My only complaint with this TV is the blue power indicator light by the power button that stays on when the tv is off. At night, it literally lights up the room which is inconvenient when attempting to sleep. I have looked through tv settings and there appears to be no way to turn off that light. All in all, this is a great tv at an amazing price. For bringing in smart tv functionality with UHD picture quality, you cannot beat it!

This TV is Smart!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nowadays many TV's in this price range are called "Smart" when in reality all they do is provide Wifi and a handful of apps so that you can stream online content. I'd call them connected Tv's. This Insignia Smart TV with HDR and Fire TV is the definition of Smart TV. It comes preinstalled with a lot of useful apps and there is a plethora of apps you can download and add to your TV. I say that this TV is Smart because of Alexa and Fire TV. You can control your TV by speaking into the microphone on the control. You can use it to search for content online, to switch between your HDMI ports, or to an installed application. There was only a couple of things Alexa couldn't do on the tv when prompted. I imagine that this TV will get updates with Fire TV to add even more possibilities. It really is pretty awesome to be able to control your TV using only your voice. No need to type out phrases using only a directional pad. Alexa and Fire TV are also quite snappy. The UI loads quickly between apps and inputs. Also the voice commands are heard accurately and only studder when you give it a command that it isnt programmed to do. I am very impressed with the function. Honestly, it is the quickest, smartest TV interface I have ever used. Picture quality on the TV is great. 4k content streams smoothly and looks great at this price point. It also has pretty good viewing angles and I did not notice any light bleed on my unit. Blacks are nice and contrasty and colors are crisp and punchy. It does have a game mode which i tested with a Playstation 4. I can't find the specs for it anywhere, but I did not notice much input lag, if it is present it is minimal. I was able to play shooters and fighting games just fine. I'd recommend this TV to anyone looking for a smart TV that is 4k and HDR capable. I'd especially recommend this television if you are an Amazon customer and a Fan of Alexa and Fire TV. I honestly only found two things that I did not like about this TV. One being that the provided power cord is very short. My TV is only about 3 feet off the ground and the cord did not reach the power strip I have on the floor. I had to set my power strip ontop of my entertainment center so that the cable can reach it. The other problem I have with the tv is that you have to go to the home screen, then select which input you want to adjust when adjusting picture profiles. Thankfully its not a setting you have to constantly adjust but it could be implemented better. That's it. There isn't much to complain about on this television. Go out and Get it, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Great TV
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an existing Fire TV user, I liked the idea of having the service built in so an HDMI port and a power outlet could be freed up for other devices. They did a great job of integrating the TV functions into the Fire TV platform. It is simple to switch to an HDMI port and even possible to do so via Alexa. Local channels via an antenna are also integrated. They even get placed into an on-screen program guide so I do not have to blindly change channels. The image quality is amazing. Obviously 43 inches is not exactly a big test for a 4K image but it is still excellent. The screen is really clear whether it comes to fine detail or fast motion. The audio is also really impressive for a TV. Of the flat screens I have owned over the years, this TV by far has the best audio I have heard. Of course, high quality external speakers would sound better. But this TV does an excellent job, especially if it is being used in a bedroom or somewhere it would be impractical or undesirable to use a soundbar or other types of external speakers. The one problem I ran into with this TV is that I could not figure out how to connect my computer to the TV via HDMI. It turned out to be a simple change of a setting but it took 20 minutes on the phone with tech support to figure it out because there were no instructions on how to do this via the manual. Turns out my computer uses HDMI Mode 1.4 but the TV is set to HDMI 2.0 by default. If you happen to run into the same problem, switch to the input, press and hold the Home button until the menu appears. Go to Picture>Advanced Settings>HDMI Input Mode>Mode 1 (1.4).

TV Is Serving It's Purpose!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV mainly to have in my bedroom. It's the right size and has all the features I needed. Since I was on a budget, a Sale Price tag of $199 on this 4K Smart TV was a no brainer for me. THE GOODS: - It's an affordable 4K Smart TV - Picture quality is good, nice sound on speakers - So far Wi-Fi connectivity it's going on point, perfect to watch Netflix - The faux-brushed-metal finish edges around the screen is a nice touch, so no finger prints THE BADS: - Remote Control can be confusing for people who aren't familiar with the Fire Stick - Too many Ads, useless Apps - Standby light(Blue color) appears to be too bright once you shutoff the TV Overall is a nice TV considering the affordable price. So far it's been a month of using this TV and it's performing great.

Great Quality for the Price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It hasn't really been that long since we bought our last flat screen but the prices have dropped so much lately for such better quality that it was hard to resist. Throw in Fire-TV and Alexa and it is practically a no brainer, especially if you want to be a cord cutter and just get high speed net access from your provider without spending a ton of money for a higher end unit. Setup of the unit was a breeze, just have to wait a little bit for the software upgrade. Picture quality is great, especially for the price point. I wish we could get a larger screen, but this is what fits over the fireplace without doing major work. Fine when sitting at edge of screen though our room isn't that wide where it might be a problem. Sound quality is fine as the room isn't that large. No need for a soundbar, though I'm sure would be better with one, for a larger room. User interface is a bit awkward in places, all depends on what you'll frequently be doing. I like the voice input and connectivity to Echo for voice controls. Just have to "train" the eleven year old to not abuse it. For now the novelty is too new to him to care about his annoying behavior when watching TV. While the system has its own parental controls, not sure if it is worth using on top of controls from service provider. Definitely would have benefited from longer power cord.

Amazing Picture and Audio
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for $200 during the President's Day Sale. Immediately when I turned this on I was shocked at how good it looks. I thought that this was only an LCD TV, but I got an LED LCD for $200. I knew right then that I made a good choice. I was also able to change all of the display settings that I wanted to. I upgraded from a 26 inch TV with a bunch of cool display settings and was worried that this TV would not have all of the settings that I used to have. I use this primarily for 4K gaming and it is perfect for that. Netflix looks amazing as well. The audio is so crisp. It is very noticeable compared to the cheap soundbar from Walmart that I have hooked up to it. The speakers can also handle being turned up very high. So loud to the point where it hurts your ears. I can't find an option for "Stable Sound" I am pretty bummed about that. The best thing about this TV is that it has Composite. I am able to plug my PlayStation 2 into this TV and change the Luminescence and Contrast and Brightness and Sharpness and Color to the point where it looks like you're using HDMI out of your PS2. Overall I would recommend this TV to anyone and everyone.

5 star but...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was super excited for this tv. With multiple amazon products to interact with the tv at home, the functions including talking to the remote work for me. When I hooked it up and easily connected to my WiFi, I noticed the picture quality was a little subpar. Especially compared to my plasma that was above it. The blacks were too bright, making them look bluish and the picture just wasn’t crisp. Very disappointed initially because I wanted to love it. But! A little tweaking, which is a bit of a pain because the picture settings don’t show the picture when adjusting it which is strange, but after back and forth from settings to picture multiple times, I was able to make the picture as beautiful as my plasma. Phew. Now I love it! Tweak the settings to your liking and you’ll love this tv. Super cool streaming and cable options at a great price.

Good picture, lots of problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, it has a pretty good picture, not great, but good. But it goes downhill from there. The first problem is that you cannot just turn it on and watch TV, as far as I can tell, this cannot be done. You have to “hunt and peck” for anything. This has confounded everyone from the salesman at Best Buy, to the elderly, to visitors, to the children. Even the Millenials, who seem to have the least amount of problems with figuring it out, have to work through it. Why? The second problem is very similar, and that is the menus. Endless, pointless menus! You have to wear out the remote control, moving around, looking around, and making selections. It is insane – the organization is nuts! You cannot turn it on Live Broadcast Channel 9 or Cable Channel 247, or whatever because Alexa has no clue what you are talking about and there are NO numbers on the remote! It is such a pain to watch whatever it is showing on TV at the moment. Example, Spongebob was on, and I wanted to turn it on and could not find it – was not on the menu. So I asked Alexa to find it, and it did. It found it in three places, so I had to go through each one until I found the one that was currently showing – are you kidding me? The third problem is worse. Apps, apps, apps, endless, pointless apps. Literally apps within apps within apps. No standardization. Want to find a particular show? You have to know where it is, and you have to navigate through the menu, you know, the one that makes no sense. It is like a maze! Alexa helps very little and once you find your show, Alexa is going to more-than-likely show you the one that needs yet ANOTHER App to watch the show! I am not kidding. The fourth problem is that it is anti-cable and anti-broadcast TV. It is designed this way NO PURPOSE. Do you have Xfinity? There is no app for that! The TV loses where the cable TV is and it cannot tell the difference between broadcast TV and Pluto TV. Want to watch the local news? Good luck finding any channel. There is a TV button with little antennas, you push it, easy right? The channels are not listed, instead it shows you what it wants to show you. There are too many channels and it is kind of nice to go to the History channel instead of channel 3441, but how do you know that your favorite History channel show is on? Alexa might help if you want to list 14 of your favorite shows and ask which one of those are on at the moment, but you are lucky if Alexa gets even one of them right. The fifth problem is Alexa. Alexa is your best bet on finding what you want, however, it rarely understands what you want, even if it gets what you just said perfectly correct, no matter how you say it. It is literally like talking to a senile elderly person and it is loud! For example, just try to get it to turn on the Weather channel. It wants to tell you the weather, but it just will not turn on the Weather channel, nor will it find or turn on the local weather or news. It might give you 14 weather selections and the Weather channel might be among them, but if you want to watch it, you have hunt it down, select it only to find that you have to download an app. What?! Never mind it is on local broadcast channel 5 or on cable channel 38 at the moment. The same thing is true for just about everything! The sixth problem are the remote control buttons. Not only are there no numbers so you cannot override the insane, maliciously out-of-control menus, but the “how can you possibly get it wrong” buttons are a real pain as well. Want to watch Amazon Prime? Push the Amazon Prime button. Now you get yet another menu, similar to, but always different from, all the other apps. So you are stuck endless hunting through the weird, nonsensical categories forever. If you are lucky, you will find something that you can tolerate to watch, so you select it, but no, you can’t watch it. You have to subscribe to yet another service. Amazon Prime is littered with endless services that you have to purchase first. Want to watch 10 different shows? You might have to subscribe to 10 different services first, each costing who knows per month. Then good luck on finding what you want to watch, Alexa has no clue to select the one you are subscribed to. Try selecting the Netflix button and you will see the exact same shows that you were not interested in watching years ago show up. Not only that, but they seem to show up in every other category, over and over and over. Heaven forbid you started to watch a show that you decided was horrible, it will be listed in your face FOREVER. Netflix will assume you loved it so much that it will give you horrid selections just like that show you could not stand to watch. Furthermore, all menus seem to have this same problem: classic, awesome tv shows and movies listed next to the most rotten garbage as if they were the same thing. Amazon Prime is especially bad at this. Does it have a 1.2 rating on IMDB? No problem, Amazon Prime gives it a 5 star rating! There are no real filters, so Ben-Hur, the Ten Commandments, or anything with Charlton Heston is listed right next to Bubble Guppies or Death Wish. Hey, it’s all the same thing, right? Good luck on finding the classical movie, you are just as likely to get the animates cartoon version.

Great price, good tv.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I seen a few reviews some good some bad. This tv for the price us a great tv, good picture and is pretty fast with search and app loads. My previous tv was a Samsung smart tv, was very very slow poor navigation and slow loads with very few apps. The remote on this tv however (insignia) is very basic and can cause some navigation issues. However I was able to setup my cable remote to help out with this issue. One review said you cant just turn on your tv and start watching cable, you have to hunt threw menus and apps, well this tv has a feature built it, a quick start sort of thing. It remembers what you use and has a list that pops up for you to select. Aside from that it remembers what was last used, in my case we watch our cable tv so as soon as I turn on my tv and cable box it starts automatically playing cable tv without me searching for it. Now it does have a lot of pros and cons for instance my Samsung tv had built in screen mirror and our Samsung phones and tablets would connect and display what was on our phone to the tv. So this tv the insignia is more like an iPhone in the sense, sure it can screen mirror but you have to get an app for that, then get the app on you device then turn on both apps and blah blah blah. The Samsung was instant and seamless mostly, it again was slow to load but easier than this. Love the tv the menu is wonky remote to basic and like the iPhone it has an app for that so because of that it has draw backs in my mind. Samsung tv was slow and had few apps but it had the basic stuff built it, the apps for it were Facebook Netflix YouTube that sort of thing. The insignia requires a lot of functional apps to be downloaded in order to work, then the download of your common apps can come along. For the price and for a tv that isnt a primary I say this is a good buy.
