Everybody loves their smart tv but what they don't think about is that somebody has to support updating and patchng the software and like all software, at some point they will quit supporting your device. What that means is that even if the hardware is still good you may lose capabilities that you had, and you may have greater cyber security risk. The second downside of your smart tv is that you should expect the tv to pass telemetry on you back to someone. That would I suspect include your accounts and viewing habits. If you say that you don't care and have nothing to hide, just look back to 2020 where cancel culture debanked and cost people their jobs because of their personal views and beliefs. If you really want to be a data product that is sold and incorporated into profiles, grab that smart tv. It is cheap for a reason.

I got this as a TV for my kids room, for a second TV it's good, I got it for $99 and the size is pretty good. It is a regular HD TV and the setup isn't as easy as other TV's, but really can't complain given how cheap it was.

This tv was purchased to replace an 8 year old Insignia that went out the same morning that I bought it. It is a significant upgrade over the older one. First, it is 1080p, which the old was only 720p. This has made a huge difference in how I view programs on my Roku - and play games on through my Xbox. It also has DTS surround sound, improving the audio quality for many streaming channels (as well as broadcast channels). It’s not as good as a 4k television - or even a smart one - but I did not need all of the extras, as it is just a tv to have in my bedroom.

Although it’s a store brand in televisions. This line of televisions has always been just a good example of the Best Buy store. Affordable prices for quality televisions. Nothing more to say.

This was a Christmas gift for my husband. It gets a great picture, and was easy to hook up to Roku. The size is just right for the area where it's used.

Has been working great for 17 months, no issues at all. I like that it has a nice fast tuner, not a bunch of waiting for the channels to sync. It also gets along well with my Roku Stick. The only weak point would be the sound, but plenty outputs to feed to a soundbar or amp.

Let's try this again! This posted under the Geek Squad coverage, which I did NOT buy and would NOT recommend. Not sure how someone can do a verified purchase review of something they didn't purchase. Maybe my browser (Opera) misled me, as it doesn't work that great on Best Buy's site :( FOR THE TV, not some kind of Geek Squad whatever... I am not knowledgeable when it comes to why video quality on some televisions is better than others. Maybe it is the type (LED vs older tech?). I say this prefacing my comparison of our old TVs. We have two Toshibas, bought in 2007. Love those two TVs. People look "real", have color to their cheeks; plus, no issues in all that time. This Insignia, everything is kind of "whited out" or overly bright (yep, tried the different settings). However, my main reason for purchasing this TV is wanting a dumb TV; and, those options are becoming extremely limited recently. My ID was stolen in 2021 and the privacy issues with the "smart TVs" do not instill confidence. (To disclose: 50 year old female that does not understand my peers' obsession with posting everything, never removing phones from hands, etc.) Well, even though the video is a little lacking, the sound seems similar to the Toshibas. And, my husband said, "Buy at least one more, since it seems we won't have a choice of non-"smart" in the near future." I think the reason our Toshibas have lasted 16 years is because there is no software to crash, not be updated, etc. So, yes, I recommend! Maybe I'll get a third to store away. I do have an Insignia antenna purchase here at Best Buy attached - we get 56 channels in our location. I also have a Roku and BluRay player attached. Yes, I get the Roku is "smart", but I can disconnect and the tv still functions with the antenna.

Was a little skeptical about purchasing an Insignia TV as I had no experience with this brand. Great picture, sound could be better, but for our TV watching it is okay.

Bought 2 for our kids to upgrade from a 5 year old smaller tv. Didn’t need a smart tv because they already had apple tvs. Great entry level tv at a great price.
