Now that USB-C seems to truly be the default device charging connection, a wealth of USB-C chargers and cables are available at all sorts of different price and power points. Insignia is no stranger to this market, offering a wealth of options. One of their latest models is this 45W kit that includes both a charging brick and a cable at a very reasonable price. Arriving in a small box (with more paperwork than should be strictly necessary for a charger, but I appreciate the multilingual instructions) the Insignia kit offers a small 45W adapter with folding prongs and a 6-foot long braided USB-C to USB-C cable. I wasn’t expecting too much but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when opening the box: this is an unexpectedly premium product. The charging brick is very compact, but it’s set apart from others on the market in appearance. Instead of the plain black cube I expected, Insignia gave this 45W charger a dash of style. The black “inner” brick is surrounded by a clear plastic shell with gently curved sides, complimented by a matte gray finish on the USB-C port side. It immediately reminded me of Apple’s accessories from the early 2000s, and lends a premium vibe to what would otherwise be just another charger. I think every charging brick should have folding a folding plug and this one delivers, with prongs that snap open and shut with authority. The USB-C cable, too, is more premium than I expected. I love a braided cable for durability and style, and Insignia goes a little step beyond here, too, with stylish orange accents on the plugs (inside and out) and a similar shell-over-black look to the plug ends, this time with a frosted finish. I was also pleased to see the cable is listed as a 240W affair, which while far more than the 45W charger puts out means this cable can truly fast charge pretty much any device with the right connection, offering compatibility and future-proofing beyond what I would usually expect at this price. I appreciate the included rubber cable wrap, too: it’s not just useful, but feels more durable than the flimsy wraps many cables come with. I brought this charging kit on a recent work trip, which is where compact offerings like this really shine. It fit easily into my bag and was capable of charging all my USB-C devices. I mainly used it with a three-in-one travel charging dock to juice up my phone, watch and earbuds, and it did so flawlessly. I appreciated the ability to plug my phone in directly and quickly add charge in between conference activities as well. Once you go USB-C, you’ll wonder why it took so long for all devices to make the switch. This little 45W getup offered plenty of wattage to supply my charging station, even with three devices using it, and plenty of power to charge my iPhone 15 Pro at top speed. It’s also able to top off my iPad Pro at high speed, too. At 45W it will charge my MacBook Pro, but not at top speed, so I’d recommend this as an overnight option rather than your go-to when using a laptop. Still, you could technically bring this kit and be able to recharge all your devices on the go. All told, my expectations for this product weren’t particularly high, but I was pleasantly surprised by what Insignia offers at this price point. I appreciate the combination of convenience, quality and style offered by both the charger and the cable, and found it to charge everything I asked it to quickly and without fuss. Moreover, at this price point Insignia is offering you higher quality, more features and USB-IF certification, which is missing from some of the no-name brands you might find elsewhere. This is an easy recommendation and has quickly become my go-to charging kit for travel.

Worked amazing for the first month then the box stop working all together. No more fast charge or any power at all throught the box that is came with. Waste of money. Stopped working 2 weeks after my returnable date.

I recently got the Insignia 45W Foldable Compact Wall Charging Kit, and I gotta say, it’s been a solid purchase. One of the best things about it is the compact design. I sleep with the radio on, and this disrupts the radio signal. It will be returned for a better shielded model.

I recently got the Insignia 45 Watt USB-C Wall Charger, and it has quickly become part of my daily routine. The charging speed is particularly good. I use it primarily with my smartphone and tablet, and it charges both devices remarkably fast. For instance, my phone goes from 0% to 50% in about 30 minutes, which is great when I’m in a hurry. The build quality of the charger seems premium which is an odd thing to say about a charger, but it feels sturdy and well-made. The included cable is also of high quality, which is a pleasant surprise since many chargers skimp on this aspect. The cable is long enough to reach from the outlet to my desk comfortably, and it does not feel flimsy or prone to breaking. Phone chargers a dime a dozen today, but this version by Insignia is that perfect sweet spot between price and usability. It checks all the boxes you need in a charger at a reasonable price. First right out of the box you can tell it is quality product as the six foot braided cable is up to modern specs with it being USB-C to USB-C and the inclusion of rubber endpoints for longevity gives it an overall well manufactured feel. You can tell this cable isn`t going to fray or breakdown after extended use. Then the addition of the rubber tie on the cable is a small touch that is much appreciated here when it comes to cable management. Then the actual brick is extremely compact with the foldable plug, but does not feel like a cheap piece of plastic where many companies just put the bare minimum in the brick to function. The aesthetics here are just as appealing in that braided cables always have that superior appearance in my opinion and the charging brick appearance gives that very subtle higher end look with it`s multitone black/gray color. Onto the actual performance though, this thing does nearly everything you could ask for. First with the cable it not only allows for fast charging up to 240W, but also allows up to 480 Mbps transfer speeds which is great if you are transferring larger files like movies or multiple photos and documents since it transfers them near instantly. Where this product really shines though is in the fast charging aspect as the 45W power brick is absolutely perfect for nearly all portable products aside from more power hungry laptops. I found between my tablets and phone this thing was right on par with much more expensive chargers. The inclusion of it to be a PPS (programmable power supply) is perfect as it will essentially throttle the voltage and current to meet the optimal charging needs of the device it is charging. Then lastly when it comes to any charger is the USB-IF certification as this is the main thing I look for when first selecting a charger to which this charger checks that final box here for me with that certification. Overall, you can`t go wrong with this charger as from the aesthetics and build quality to the actual performance Insignia has left no stone unturned as this charger has/does everything you could ask. The inclusion of both a superior cable and charging brick in one ensures you can just buy this one time and be set to charge all your portable devices.

Unfortunately this charger only lasted about two months.

I bought this on May 24, 2025 and it has stopped working and now I can't take it back because it has been over the 15 day return policy I am not happy

I asked the clerk for a Wireless Charger as my phone's charging port is no longer reliable. After explaining the charging problem, I was handed this. As we were busy making a large purchase, I did not look closely.

I was looking for a Samsung Charging Block & Cable, but the guy at Best Buy sokd this to me. I need a Samsung Official Charger, since it may cancel the warranty.

As the title says, this is a charger that does everything it is supposed to do and does it well; and has a quality feel to it. The small size will easily fit into a single outlet in any surge protector. I’ve been able to charge a whole bunch of devices relatively fast as you would expect from a 45W charger. It is easy to fold and unfold and stays that way. It also comes with a 6 ft USB-C cable which is plenty long enough to charge from anywhere, to anything you want. The cable is braided so it has a nice high-quality feel. It snaps into the charger, so you never have to guess if it is fully plugged in or not. I’ve had other chargers that have more of a mushy feel, and you don’t know if it is actually plugged in. Not in this case. The biggest problem with the cable, and this bundle, is that the cable is very still and hard to bend the direction you want, and have it stay there. I wish it was more flexible. The cable tie that is attached to it is very easy to wrap and connect, unlike many other cable ties I have used. For charging times from empty to full: Pixel phone: 1 hr 20 min Samsung table: 3 hrs Samsung ear buds: 2 hrs Steamdeck: 2 hrs This is a perfect charger that works well with everything I have tried it with. My only complaint is how stiff the cable is, although that does help when trying to wrap it up.
