I’ve been looking for a small freezer to handle overflow from our main fridge/freezer. The 5 cubic foot model is a perfect size. It fit nicely into a nook in the basement. I purchased it 3 days ago from a local Best Buy. One must-have feature for me was a power light. Many small freezers in this low-price category do not have a light (Lowes, Home Depot). Oddly the Insignia floor model did not have a light, but the salesman was nice enough to pull one from the warehouse. We found that one had a power light. I agree with other posters that Insignia is not a name-brand, but it’s likely built in the same factory as major brands like Hot Point or LG. Just compare the control panel and you’ll see what I mean. This applies to most appliances these days. Other features that I’ve been impressed with are: - It’s light weight, easy to move around. - The exterior metal shell is surprising sturdy. It could easy support something stored on top. - It’s got a drain plug for defrosting - It started up fine, got down to 0 degrees in a few hours. - It’s quiet Overall, it seems to be good value. I hope this works out long term.

So, this little freezer is perfect!! First off, I could pick it up as it's not super heavy, and I got it home in a SUV, so the box isn't all that huge. I plugged it in and within a few hours it was really cold. I've had this for a few months, and not only is it perfect for all things frozen, but it doesn't use that much electric. My bill was flat since I plugged this in, so in no way is it an energy hog, and I keep it on a sunroon where it gets pretty warm. Great value for a very energy efficient deep freezer! My soon to be wife and I are on the go quite a bit, so this saves us money in being able to freeze meals vs. throwing out items just because we didn't have room to freeze things. On top of all that, Best Buy service was awesome, they loaded it in the car for me and all said, I was walked in the store and drove off 15 minutes later with a freezer.

Desperately needed more freezer storage. We don't have a lot of space and this freezer fit the area we wanted to use. Shopped online, this freezer was in stock and available at the local BB. Went down to look at it, and it was what we were wanting. Sales associate was great at answering questions and completing the transaction. With in a few minutes a couple of BB team members were helping us load into our pickup. Once home and set up, the freezer was cold enough to use in about 15 minutes. Have had for over a year now. Runs quiet and does an great job as a freezer. Satisfied do far.

Purchased Insignia - 5.0 Cu. Ft. Chest Freezer about a month ago, I am very satisfied with it. It runs great and is quiet. Very affordable!! I would definitely recommend this deep freezer if you are looking for something that doesn't take up too much space and if you need extra storage. It does the job! Associate was extremely helpful and had a pleasant attitude. Thanks BestBuy!

I picked up my freezer at the store on 3/5/2020, unpacked it at home. It looked great - no scratches, dents, or spots. I placed it in the basement, at the distance from the wall that was written in the instructions; leveled it, and left it there for 24 hours before plugging it in and turning it on. After freezing products in it, the temperature at the bottom of the freezer measured at -9.9 F (using a digital thermometer). The appliance is very quiet. So far, so good - hope it stays that way. If anything changes, I'll post an update.

Love this deep freezer. Very large on the inside. I am not even close to filling it up. It is very quiet and All products stay well frozen. I keep it in the garage and even when it's burning hot in there, the temperature remains consistent.

Just the right size to keep all the frozen items that we just couldn’t fit in our regular refrigerator. Now when things go on sale I can take advantage of the sales. Food stays very cold and I don’t even have it turned all the way up. Very pleased with this freezer.

So we needed a stand alone freezer that wasn’t too large or too small to store overflow from two fridges with freezer compartments. This mama bear size works perfectly and the price was fantastic because I got it on sale! Highly recommend. It’s is a three prong and the cord is about six feet long...just saying since I got that question today

We live in a small apartment so space is a premium. This works great . I picked up some plastic trays at Walmart that stack and it keeps everything organized and the basket that comes with it can be used in any position

We were looking for a small freezer to supplement our home fridge/freezer. Saw this one online, read the reviews, and decided to give it a try. Set the dial to half way, checked that the temp was around zero, and added several items we found on sale at the grocery store, along with bigger containers of ice cream, and the freezer has been working flawlessly. Holds more than you would think for a small freezer. I would definitely recommend this small freezer, if you are looking for one. Excellent value.

I purchased this freezer primarily for ice and fishing bait. I didn't have anywhere inside my house to put it so I planned on putting it in my shed in the back yard. It probably gets over 100 degrees in there, but my ice stays ice, and my bait stays frozen until I need it. I did test it by putting a penny on top of frozen bowl of water to make sure it would work before I stored anything in it and the penny was still on top when I checked it the next day. So far I'm pleased with it, we'll see how long it last.

It's quite cool! Had it running for a for a week before using and the inside is very cold. This is so quiet. Bonus is the power light on the control panel! Pictures didn't show a light although the floor model and this one had it! Back ordered for a month was the worst part why would it take that long to get units in? Works great more food storage.

my girlfriend and I bought this to have more room in our first apartment. I use to work at Best Buy for years and was a little skeptical about the insignia brand but to my surprise it’s a good deep freezer. We love it. The only thing that sometimes gets to me is the size. I wish I would’ve bought a little bigger one. We don’t overload it at all, but it would’ve been nice to have that extra room. If you can go to the store and check out the different sizes I’d recommend to do so. All in all it’s a good product though.

This freezer was perfect size for what we needed. We put ice cream and ice cream sandwiches in it for an event. I wish it came with an additional tray instead of just 1. I have had no issues with the temperature.

Great freezer for the price! Does not take up a lot of space but still enough room inside for the Thanksgiving turkey and fish from the summer, not to mention garden veggies.

This exactly what we needed to hold extra frozen foods without taking up too much space. It is really doing well and have not noticed any moisture build up or jump in our electric bills. Works very perfect.

I loved the product that I purchased. I had an old one that just kept producing too much ice and it was also too tall for the spot that I had it in, (it was upright). I purchased this product because I like the height and the extra deep space is what I needed. I think the little basket at the top is cute. I have no complaints about this product.

This freezer is small, but ample for turkeys, bags of greens, tubs of homemade tomato sauce, meats and extra loaves of bread. It fits perfectly next to a small refrigerator on a pallet in the basement. Easy to use, energy efficient.

I love how compact it is. And it’s sooo much space, I can fit all my meats inside.
