It makes a loud clicking noise when it does come on. I like that it has a blue light in the front on the bottom to let you know it is working. Controls are above the blue light on the bottom right. The only problem I had was that I ordered it on line for store pick up and when I got there all they had were two and both were dented. Disappointed to say the least.
