We bought this in hopes of making it easier to store frozen foods. Refrigerators nowadays just seem to be inadequate when it come to freezer space. So far it has performed well. My youngest child at five feet tall has not had any issues reaching the bottom of the freezer to get her favorite pizza rolls or popsicles. Good capacity and fits perfectly in our laundry room.

Very spacious and it freezes solid rock. It take limited space.

It does everything a Freezer should do in a compact box. If you're looking to have extra storage space for that food that just won't fit inside the main freezer, this is perfect! Put it out in the garage, forget about it until you need that frozen package of meat to entertain guests, feed your large family or just pig out on an oversized roast! It's also perfect for storing extra ice, Popsicle's, ice cream or that science experiment that your kids must have done to prove that things really do freeze. What more can be said about this technological gem, it's a freezer!! What a Freezer!

The Arctic King chest freezer has served us very well since we bought it in May 27, 2018. It has remained trouble free and was such a great value when we bought it for $99.99 with free delivery.

On the good side, this product was reasonably priced, quickly available, light enough for my husband and me to lift and easy to transport home in a mid size SUV. We put it in the garage, on a GFCI outlet. It reached desired temp. in about 24 hours and we put some meat, chicken bones (for soup) and blackberries in it. On the bad side, a few days later it turned itself off. I didn't know it, and the contents were spoiled. Neither the house circuit breaker nor the GFCI tripped, so I have no idea what happened. I purchased a thermometer with an alarm and it's been O.K. for almost a month, but I'm still wary. If you need some extra freezer space I'd buy it, but I'd also spend an extra $30 and get a thermometer with an alarm.

This is exactly what we needed to hold extra frozen food without taking up too much space. It holds plenty, but was small enough for one person to load into a small SUV and carry down the steps to the basement. The basket holds smaller items and makes it easy to get large packages on the bottom. Would be great if Best Buy offered extra baskets for sale! The only minor gripe is it seems to be building up ice crystals around the seal sooner than I expected. It's not too difficult to scrape them off (only use plastic utensils to avoid damage!) especially if you keep up with it (once a week or so). It is NOT frost-free, so you will have to periodically defrost it to remove more significant ice build-up, but that's typical of a small freezer.

Perfect size...works great... quiet ,and keeps perfect temperature

Purchased this freezer for its small size and to use as a refrigerator by using an add-on temp controller. The unit has been working great and reliable for many months. Quiet and efficient too. I was unsure about Insignia brand for something like this but was not disappointed at all. Found this on sale for a very good price at best buy.

We are very happy with our purchase of the small chest freezer. We have had 25 cubic ft upright freezer for over 40 years, was never a fan of a chest freezer. This one, however, is perfect for us at this time in our life. So happy we went to Best Buy for it. They were fantastic in every way, from purchase to delivery.

New dad here. Wife needed a chest freezer for milk storage. This came in super handy and it's a great value when there's a sale. It keeps everything nice and cold and honestly, I don't notice an uptick in electricity costs from it. Happy owner!

Just the right amount of extra freezer space for the two of us. Our fridge freezer was too small. This freezer does not take up too much space and works great. I recommend it. The sliding basket that was included is great. I purchased an extra wire basket to hold more smaller items. It is easy to lift up to reach larger items below. Freezer is perfect for us.

This product is great in every aspect. It is compact, has great seals, no escape of coldness discovered, you can place it anywhere in your pantry or garage, has a big capacity for such a small item, and the price is just right. So far I am very pleased with this small freezer, and yes I will recommend to anyone looking for a small freezer with a big punch.

Best small freezer I’ve purchased. It takes up a very small footprint of space. Is very deep, the basket works well for things you want to stay on top. Holds way more food that I imagined it would. So great I purchased one for my college kids apartment too and they love it!

A Great product at a Very reasonable price. Our mother purchased a French door refrigerator and was concerned she wouldn't have ample enough freezer storage. The Insignia 5.0 cubic foot freezer provided ample storage with easy access that conveniently can be put in the garage or even a closet it takes up such a small space. We would highly recommend it.

Easy to operate. Plenty of room and really light weight.

Bought one of these in 2017. Has worked well - Didn't need to be defrosted until last week. Defrosted once is 33 months! We needed a little more room temporarily (and a backup just in case.) I happened to check the BB website at the right time and found a few units were available. (Freezers have been in really short supply.) The second one works just as well as the first. Set the thermostat mid-way, checked the temp and it was minus 7.5 degrees. The defrosting process was easy - Put contents in coolers, moved freezer to garage door, opened drain plugs, used garden hose to melt the mostly minimal ice build-up. (Drain MAY have ice inside that can be removed with warm water, hair dryer, etc.) Sprayed interior with cleaner, wiped, rinsed, dried and put it back in service. Maybe 20 minutes total. These things may not be your grandma's giant-sized, 200 pound chest freezer but they work well and the price is right - Even more so on some holidays when the price can drop to double-digits.
