Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After almost 8 years this tv is still alive and kickin! I also bought a 32 in which died recently... but that was in my kids room (who is almost 14...) so all in all I can't complain.

BUYER BEWARE!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased an "Open Box" 50" Insignia TV online. When I received my TV it came with no remote and DID NOT include the screws to fasten the 2 legs to the TV. No where in the item description did it mention that those items would not be included. I didn't mind the missing remote so much but was really upset about the missing screws. (I mean seriously, how can you not include such an important thing like the hardware to attach the legs?) When I called my local Best Buy they were unable to help me because the TV was purchased as an "open box" online and didn't come from that store. My only option was to bring the TV into the store and get my money back or exchange it for something else. This was not an option for me as I don't drive and was the reason I purchased online to begin with. All I wanted and needed was 4 little screws. The TV DOES work just fine but I will seriously have second thoughts about ever making another purchase online for an open box item. If you do ever plan on purchasing an open box item, go to your local store instead of buying it online. at least that way you know what you are getting without any surprises.

Problems with remote sensor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV on Black Friday. The picture quality and audio quality were solid, but the TV would intermittently stop picking up signals from either the remote that came with the TV or the cable box remote. The problem continues to this day, off and on. I am planning to return this and exchange it for a different brand, but I'm not happy about having to lug this big beast back to the store.

Software update made my TV unusable - DO NOT BUY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the interest of being fair, I will say that this TV is a great product at a great price (when it works). The Roku functionality makes it super easy to use from a user experience perspective, and the picture quality is better than average in this price range. HOWEVER, I will never again buy an Insignia TV, nor should you. In the beginning of November 2018, a software update was deployed automatically that caused an issue with the sound quality and also made the internet connection highly unstable. When I turn on the TV, the sound is muffled. To fix the issue, I have to got to the settings window, change the sound mode, then change the sound mode back to "Normal" and the sound is back to sounding fine. As for the Internet connection, it constantly drops while watching streaming services. I have a great fiber connection to my house and an excellent router setup, and have confirmed that the issue is not with my home internet connection. But still, a few times a day the connection drops, and I need to unplug the TV to reset the connection. I have been working with Insignia support for over a month on this, with promises that a software update would come out to fix the issues. Every update that has come out since then has not fixed the issue. I'm still waiting for it to be resolved. This TV is eight months old. It should not be having these issues. Insignia will not replace it despite being within the warranty period. As I said before, DO NOT BUY THIS TV.

Audio Sync is off
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this tv about two weeks ago, and found that with verizon fios that the audio lip sync is totally off, and on some channels it's worse than others.. and on DVR it's worse than on live tv. Our old Vizio had zero problems with this (same set box). We did research and tried adjusting the the 'audio delay' but there is not one audio delay between 1-100 setting that fixes it perfect, and from channel to channel or DVR show it changes ridiculously. We also tried to turn off 'pass through', and still it's awful. The tv has been good for gaming on PS4 though. But I am upset, and considering returning it (problem is I already mounted it on the wall (does not come with screws for mounting).

Too many problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv in September- by December it was having problems staying connected to the internet. I was told to reset it to factory settings- during that process the tv froze to the point I had to take it in. I was told that I would need to bring it in so it could be sent off for repair and to allow about four weeks. A month goes by, I’m without a tv, and call to check the status of my repair. I was told it would be sent in the following day. After going around in circles for an hour with the representative on the phone I was eventually forwarded to the manager who gave me a replacement tv. Four months later my replacement tv has started having problems staying connected to the internet, and I have just spent the better part of my morning resetting the tv and re-downloading all of my apps. I’m hoping that this doesn’t become a regular occurrence. Last Insignia television I’ll ever buy.

Junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is why they say that you get what you pay for. Junk TV, have a very similar model and barely lasted 3 years. The screen went out, colors are out of whack, big black dot in the lower left hand corner of the screen. Of course warranty is no longer valid so Best Buy is not willing to do anything about it, not even a discount on another purchase. This TV was in the bedroom, not even used a lot. I have a 10 year old Dynax, outside on my lanai in the Florida summer heat and it's STILL working like a charm. Old Samsung, also about 10 years old, no problems. Please stay away from Insignia products, there is a reason why they're so cheap. I would expect a 50" LED TV to last longer than 3 years!!! And to think I was about to buy a similar Sony but was talked out of by the employee and convinced to save money by purchasing Insignia. Joke is on me now.
