I spent several weeks reading reviews and performing my own research on which brand of dehumidifier and what size before finally choosing this Insignia 50 pint. It has worked very well so far (we've only had it about 4-5 weeks) to pull a lot of moisture out of our master bathroom where we've had some mild surface mold issues. Here's hoping this will solve that for us.

My first unit stopped working after about a year. The radiator would freeze over after a few minutes. My replacement is working well so far though. I like this model because it blows the exhaust vent is on the side instead of the top, where dust can collect.

Got this because an old unit died after a couple years. Takes care of the humidity problem in the basement. I wish we had a floor drain to connect a hose for the auto-drain feature because having to empty the bucket constantly is the only issue I can think of which goes for all dehumidifiers. The air output blows to the left of the unit and not directly up like our last unit did. Probably diesnt make much difference in the performance, but its something to note. Hoping this one lasts a good while.

Went to work right out of the box. Quieter than my old Comfort Aire unit. Defrost function works great when needed. No need to run fan on Turbo.

This thing is a work horse! It’s a little loud but i keep it out in my hallway. It pulls in so much moisture I’ve actually had to empty it twice in 24 hours.

I purchased this dehumidifier in July 2023, and while it worked well initially, it began leaking all over the floor by April 2025. There are no cracks, the unit still looks brand new, and I’ve rinsed the filter monthly as instructed. I only use it from April to September since I live in the north, so it hasn’t even had full-year use. When I contacted Insignia, they told me it was out of warranty and offered no support—not even a discount on a replacement. For a unit that cost over $200, I expected much better reliability and customer service. Very disappointed in the brand. It also tells you on the website “The maintenance is simple thanks to the washable and removable air filter and the 2 year warranty gives you peace of mind” as seen in the photo. The dehumidier is less than 2 years old…..

New out of the box, the 'full bucket' sensor was broken and laying in the bottom of the bucket. The two cheap plastic ends were snapped off.
I already had tossed the box into the smelly outside trash can and I wanted to avoid loading the whole heavy dehumidifier up and hauling it back to the store to return, when I really just needed a new bucket sensor.
I attempted to get a new plastic sensor sent by contacting Insignia but she said I need to contact BB at their 888 number to get a part delivered to me.
That's when I got caught in the vicious circle of NO real customer service. Just AI and auto options and when you call the store DIRECT you actually just get dumped back into the main BB number and it's not the store. 2 phone calls and one online chat that is only with a fake AI computer and not a human - and NO OPTIONS THAT FIT (and I had already contacted the manufacturer!) I just wanted a new plastic piece, not have to return the whole thing (and knew there was only 1 more at the store and it had had an open box, that's why this one was chosen).
I've resorted to attempting to super glue the tiny plastic bits and hoping for the best.

AVOID THIS - Broken after 3 months of usage

I purchased this dehumidifier for my basement and used it only for 3 months during the summer. This summer came around and when I turn it on, it freezes over and leaks all over the floor each time, no matter what you do to troubleshoot. I contacted Insignia and they said there is nothing they can do as it has been longer than 12 months.
Their only recommendation is to contact a local appliance repairman and pay money to get this fixed. This is by far the least reliable dehumidifier I have ever owned and will be avoiding this brand in general. Terrible customer service who does nothing to help except keep sending a screenshot of the manual. Every single Insignia item I have owned broke after a short period of time OR was recalled. Don't waste your money on this
