Works great! We found some slight mould on the furniture in the basement and after cleaning it up we immediately purchased this to keep the moisture out of the room. The basement has not smelt damp and we haven't found any mould since. You are able to choose the % of moisture you wish to keep in the room which is great and automatically shuts off and back on when it reaches that % or exceeds it.

I have a Danby brand in the basement, it is much quieter than this Insignia. It works well. I put this model upstairs in the dining room. No more black mold or moisture on the windows. I did not give it five stars due to the noise. I have had it only for a month so longevity has yet to be determined. Purchased as a deal of the day for $149.99. If I were to buy another dehumindifier it would be a Danby because it is quieter, I like the settings and the way the dumping bucket slides in much better. My electro bill increased since using this unit. Not sure how this would be considered an energy star!!

Works very well to remove LOTS of water in my cellar. I have it on Constant and ill be switching to a few hours since the amount of water collected is very heavy for me to empty.

I bought the 70-pint version last summer and was very pleased. I wish it had not been discontinued. When I looked for a second dehumidifier, I didn’t hesitate to buy this 50-pint version. We are in the very humid American South and these two are doing a great job of helping keep our indoor air comfortable.

Got this on sale a few months ago. Just recently plugged in. Seems to be working fine so far. Fairly quiet which is great. Have had other dehumidifiers but they just don't last and repairs cost more than new. Will see how this one does as time progresses.

This is on wheels which can help you move it around. It is rather heavy. I would recommend using the drain hose. The tank fills up quickly and you will be emptying that tank a lot otherwise.

It struggles to maintain 45% rh and is a bit noisy. Noise is not a problem since it is in the basement. 46 to 47 rh is ok. Hope is lasts more than 2 years like the previous brands.

We understand how important long-term reliability is, and we appreciate you giving our product a try after your experience with other brands. Your input helps us continue to improve.

I am running two of these units 24/7 after foundation replacement during THE MOST WET SEASON in the northeast since I was born (in the 1950s). The goal is to dry out and cure the cement and to alleviate all moisture issues under and in my home. So far, so good!

After noticing mold growing on my RV carpet due to the high humidity...I had to buy this dehumidifier. What a difference it made to leave it on automatically. The unit stops when the reservoir fills up. Be sure not to run your AC and dehumidifier at the same time. Worth the money while unit was on sale!

easy set up. I observed the difference within a day. The RH came down by 15% in a day. It takes some time for the dehumidifier to stop after reaching the set point. Otherwise it is a good looking as well as performing dehumidifier.

I like this irem. I generally empty the pail daily. It is easy to remove the pail for dumping and putting it back into the dehumidifier. The price was very reasonable also.

Overall pretty good dehumidifier so far. Not too loud powerful blower and as I went weeks without one I’m able to see that it can extract a full load in about a day (24hours running). Don’t get delivery to home as mine showed “delivered” when it wasn’t after tracking showed it all over the place then magically status changed to delivered a day late when we were looking for it for the three days. Best Buy customer service was great in replacing my order, this time to the store for pickup a week after my call about the issue. I guess store deliveries are once/week. It didn’t show up and a week after that, the next store drop date, no delivery message to pick up. So I about give up and was going to call for a refund but 2 days later it was available for pickup. Once I got it, the dehumidifier was great, though.

This arrived with the controls at the top of the unit not working. I needed to remove the two screws on the front plastic and slide the front cover (above the tank) up and securely attache the ribbon cable that connects the controls to the unit. This was VERY easy to do but I think for the price, it should just work. Others have mentioned that they bin is finicky to put back into place, that is true but it's not the worst thing in the world. One thing I wasn't expecting is that it heats up the air a lot. The intake air is 74 degrees and the exhaust air is showing 91 degrees. I knew it heated some, but was surprised and needed to change its location away from my thermostat. All in all, it seems like a decent unit. I just got it and plugged it in so time will tell. One Thing I cant find is how the "Comfort" mode works. Doing some research online the unit is preset between a certain RH% but I can't find what those numbers are for this unit.

This item seems to be working as advertised. It's being used in a large basement under a ranch house, I have it draining into a sump pump drain.
