What do you like? It’s doing great. Nice footprint. It’s a lot stronger than the old models we had, so it pulls a lot of water out more quietly and quickly. What don’t you like? The plastic on the pull-out drawer is a little thin, you could cut your hands on it if you’re not careful. The Older ones are heavier and smoother but less efficient and louder. This one’s great as long as I’m careful.

I’m using the Insignia 50‑Pint Dehumidifier in my basement, and it works great. It removes moisture fast, keeps the air fresh, and runs quietly. The tank is easy to empty, and the continuous‑drain option makes basement use super convenient. Overall, a simple, reliable unit that gets the job done.

purchased two for very damp basement

I purchased two of these for a very damp basement. They are doing a GREAT job, the humidity level has gone way down. It is easy to remove the filter, just pops off the back for cleaning, and the dehumidifier continues running while the filter is off so you don't have to shut it down while the filter dries. These machines are much quieter than my old machine. I purchased 4-year warranties on them in hopes that I will at least get four years. Hopefully more!

My experience with this dehumidifier has so far been excellent. It shipped right away and was delivered quickly. It performs very well for my needs, and is fairly quiet. In my experience it’s how long a dehumidifier works well, that determines its quality. The cost of this unit was low, I’m hoping it will last for 5 years. If it does, it will be a good buy.

Works Well, but Disappointing Build Quality

The dehumidifier does its job really well and I have no complaints about its actual performance. It pulls moisture efficiently and runs as expected. That said, I’m pretty disappointed with the build quality for a $200 unit. The top panel where the screen and buttons are is already peeling up, which makes it feel cheaper than it should. It doesn’t affect functionality, but it’s definitely annoying at this price point and doesn’t inspire confidence in long-term durability. Overall, it works great, but I expected better construction for what I paid.

I am amazed at how much water this thing pulls out of the air! I live in Florida, my humidity used to be about 55% in my condo, and I'm always worried about mold. I set the humidity level to the lowest setting, and I am emptying this thing once to twice a day FULL of water. My humidity is never above 45% now. It has a hose, but I haven't figured out where to put it yet to drain. I'm assuming that's why it never gets to 35%, but 35% is really low for Florida, and I'm happy with it in the 40's. The filter is reusable. It will have a red light and you just pop it out, rinse it off, let it dry, and you're good to go. It's big and bulky, an eyesore in my kitchen, but you can't get around that with dehumidifiers- it is what it is. However, the wheels are amazing, you can effortlessly roll it. Great deal, especially for under $200

Works great. It does make a little noise and generates a little heat, but that's normal, as the internals work similarly to an air conditioner or refrigerator. Got it on sale and bought the extended warranty. Pulls a lot of water out of the air in the basement and the difference in humidity level is very noticable. Has to be emptied every couple of days, but the amount of water I dump out is amazing every time.

We bought this unit a year and a half ago and it is still going strong. It's not as quiet as we'd like, but not noisy either. More like a portable AC unit. We live in Central Texas, on a river where the humidity is normally in the 70-95% range. We dump the bucket 1-2 times a day depending on how what the outside weather is like. Our house is an open floor plan two story(2200 sq ft) and we keep this downstairs in the living room and it works great and we don't even notice it's running, till it's not. Great purchase and planning on getting another for upstairs.

For $149, this size humidifier is decent for the size and price. The only cons that it has is it is difficult to connect a hose to it and if you do empty it via the container, it is difficult to empty and can easily spill during the process. Otherwise, it works great, the noise level isn't too loud, and again is the cheapest option for a dehumidifier of its size that I've found online.

I recently purchased the Insignia 50-Pint Dehumidifier White and I’ve been really impressed with it. One of the biggest things for me is how quiet it is—you can have it running throughout the day or night without it being distracting at all. It’s also very simple to operate. The controls are clear and straightforward, so you can set it up and adjust it without any confusion. I really like the design of the side vent. Since it doesn’t blow upward, it helps keep debris from falling into the unit and minimizes dirt buildup over time. It feels like a small detail, but it actually makes a difference in keeping the unit cleaner. Another thing I appreciate is the water container. It’s sturdy, easy to remove, and slides right back into place without any hassle. Overall, it’s well-designed, efficient, and user-friendly—definitely a solid purchase that I’d recommend.

Very quiet operation performs well at attaining the humidity set point. There are also a number of nice features on how you want this dehumidifier to operate. Continuous, automatic - shuts off when set point is achieved and back on when humidity rises, or you can set a time schedule for it to run.

This dehumidifier so far seems to be working great. Easy to use, just set to desired setting and forget about it and let it do its thing. Can use the removable bucket to discard the water collected or connect a hose to the unit to let run directly to a drain. Would recommend.

Don't buy a house without a master bathroom door!

Some genius thought it would be a good idea to design master bedrooms with master bathrooms that have no door! Open concept these geniuses call it. Well, even with bathroom fans, the steam gets into my master bedroom and collects water everywhere, causing mildew everywhere, destroying my furniture and other niceties. To help save my new niceties, I got the idea to buy this dehumidifier, and it was the best idea I had since I figured out it was a bad idea to have a bedroom and bathroom tied together without a door! This is a fine unit! Not too loud, not too hot, not too ugly, not too expensive. I love it!
