It pulls the moisture out of the air... does its job well. The one thing that keeps it from 5 stars is the amount of heat it sends out. My friend has one that displaces cool air. This one displaces warm air.

However, experience teaches me that when it does many dehumidifiers frost up and quit running. I like the fact that this unit has a freeze sensor that shuts it off (expect the fan) when frost is detected. Otherwise this looks like it will be a good unit that does the trick.

You then need to be VERY careful pulling the catch basin out or, a fair amount of water WILL "slosh out" both inside and just outside of the dehumidifier. The control should have been designed to have about an inch of basin wall ABOVE the water line when the unit automatically shuts down because the catch basin is "full".
