Best overall dehumidifier for a basement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great dehumidifier. Purchased two other units as best ratings and both were poor performers and unpredictable. This unit is awesome and reminds me of the older Kenmore units when things were built to last a lifetime. It performs great and the humidity level is spot-on with our other gauge in the basement. Can't say enough, Thanks Best Buy!

Water you waiting for? Buy one!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really enjoy having this now in my basement. After a few hours, I started feeling a difference in the air. I empty it 3 times a day. It does have a drain hose connection but I have nowhere to have it drain into other than using the bucket. It doesn’t really take up much room in the corner and isn’t an eyesore. I like that it is on wheels if I need to move it around. I keep mine set to “Comfort” mode and it keeps my basement feeling much drier and more comfortable to be in, even on humid days.

Great Dehumidifier
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dehumidifier is great, I now have 2 of them. The first ws so good I bought a 2nd to help my utility room. My basement flooded really badly when I newly moved in. This with a shop vac helped me save my basement. Still keeps me mold free, amazing how much water it pulls out of the air!

Great east to use dehumidifier
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this unit on sale after my expensive Frigidaire model quit after just over a year. I replaced it with a Midea model that only worked for two days. After I returned it I stumbled upon the Insignia model on a daily deal. It had all positive reviews and so far a month in it has worked flawlessly in the MN summer. Easy to use, clear display and really pulls water from the air. Time will tell after 1 year how it hold up but due to the sale price, I purchased the additional 2 year Geek Squad protection for real cheap. Can’t go wrong!

Takes more water out of the air than I thought
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dehumidifier is surprisingly powerful. It pulls its full tank-worth of water out of the air in our house in about 18 hours. Since we bought it, the humidity in our house has gone from about 65% to about 48%, and it took about a week to consistently get to that level. It's handling 1050 square feet with relative ease, even with the occasional long hot shower in the room next to where we have it set up.

Quiet, High Capacity Dehumidifier
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old dehumidifer finally gave out and I wanted to get something with a higher capacity. This unit is about double the size of what I had before but I appreciate having the larger water tray and it is designed in a way that helps it blend in when put in a corner. I am using it it in a finished basement and it is working well. It brought the humidity down quickly and I was impressed with how quiet it is. The filter is in the rear of the unit and is very easy to remove so it can be cleaned. This is a great unit and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quite, large dehumidifier that you don't need to empty as often.

Good product.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good dehumidifier. I have had several over the years and this is by far the quietest one I have had. It is easy to set up and controls are easy to set up and control. The only reason I give it 4 stars is 2 fold. 1.the bucket is somewhat difficult to take out to empty and put back and requires to empty more often as doesn't seem to hold as much water as the other humidifiers I have had. So far I feel it's a good replacement. By the way I got it on sale and the price and fast delivery was fantastic.

Works great! Very quiet. I'm happy.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace a very old, very noisy but still functioning Maytag dehumidifier and to take advantage of an EnergyStar rebate and Massachusetts tax-free weekend. So far, it works great -- it pulls humidity out of the air like nobody's business (I have a duplex, bedrooms upstairs, 1280 sf total) -- and it's extremely quiet. It's easy to empty the bucket - and to put the bucket back again. I'm happy.

It's great if it's what you need.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seems to work pretty nicely. However, I bought it to reduce the oppressive heat in the garage, but it's hard to know how much it helped. It ran continuous and reduced the humidity, but outputs pretty warm air. I had read that that is expected/how it works, but thought I'd give it a go. I shut it off because I felt I was paying to run an AC unit, but felt like I'll still need to buy / should have just bought an AC unit. I got it just before the seasonal change so I'm not sure yet. It is reasonably quiet and did seem to work well.

20% Noticeable Difference
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's astonishing to see how much moisture this unit pulls from the air. The filling of the tank really puts in perspective how humid the air can get. Our humidity readers show a 20% decrease in humidity, which when it gets to 60% is dangerous for our equipment. The tank is great too, so we don't have to punch holes in our walls for drainage.

Works Good So Far
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a Dehumidifier soon and i seen the Insignia 50 Pint on sale and got it for a little over $200,it seems to work good for now but i am not sure how long it will last?I had a Toshiba 50 pint dehumidifier that looked just like the Insignia and had the same features but only lasted a few years!

Great Deal
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 6th dehumidifier and it works as well if not better than any I had before. I bought as a deal of the day for $159.99 and got a $45 rebate from the electric company. I am very satisfied with it except the warranty is only for 1 year. The other brands I purchased the compressor warranty was 5 years. Still for the price I'm happy. I have always had good luck with Insignia products.

Pleased With This Quiet, Efficient Dehumidifier
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received my dehumidifier, early in August. I ordered it because the rains this summer and early fall, managed to find a way into my basement. Not wanting to deal with wet basement problems, I ordered this dehumidifier. It was very easy to set up and use. I did add a hose, to drain it into my sump pump. Within just a few hours; the humidity was noticeably less. After a day my basement floor was dry. The unit is quite quiet and can only be heard running; when you are in the basement. My wife and I are very pleased; with this purchase.
