Very High Quality Dehumidifier! This unit is very well built and runs very smoothly. Quickly reduces room humidity and offers great features like auto coil defrosting. Very happy that we selected this particular dehumidifier.

Quiet and easy to use but does not drain well using the hose method. Sometimes, the bucket still fills even though the unit is piped to a floor drain.

Bought this unit on sale after my expensive Frigidaire model quit after just over a year. I replaced it with a Midea model that only worked for two days. After I returned it I stumbled upon the Insignia model on a daily deal. It had all positive reviews and so far a month in it has worked flawlessly in the MN summer. Easy to use, clear display and really pulls water from the air. Time will tell after 1 year how it hold up but due to the sale price, I purchased the additional 2 year Geek Squad protection for real cheap. Can’t go wrong!

It works quite well and is most effective at reducing the humidity level in the room and it's rather difficult to empty because it's gathered such a heavy amount of water but it does the job!

Hi there! Thank you for your feedback on the Insignia™ 50-Pint Dehumidifier with ENERGY STAR Certification! We're pleased to hear that it's effectively reducing the humidity level in your room. We understand that emptying the water can be a bit challenging due to the heavy amount it collects, but we're glad to know it's doing the job well.

My old dehumidifer finally gave out and I wanted to get something with a higher capacity. This unit is about double the size of what I had before but I appreciate having the larger water tray and it is designed in a way that helps it blend in when put in a corner. I am using it it in a finished basement and it is working well. It brought the humidity down quickly and I was impressed with how quiet it is. The filter is in the rear of the unit and is very easy to remove so it can be cleaned. This is a great unit and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quite, large dehumidifier that you don't need to empty as often.

Seems to work pretty nicely. However, I bought it to reduce the oppressive heat in the garage, but it's hard to know how much it helped. It ran continuous and reduced the humidity, but outputs pretty warm air. I had read that that is expected/how it works, but thought I'd give it a go. I shut it off because I felt I was paying to run an AC unit, but felt like I'll still need to buy / should have just bought an AC unit. I got it just before the seasonal change so I'm not sure yet.
It is reasonably quiet and did seem to work well.

This is a good dehumidifier. I have had several over the years and this is by far the quietest one I have had. It is easy to set up and controls are easy to set up and control. The only reason I give it 4 stars is 2 fold. 1.the bucket is somewhat difficult to take out to empty and put back and requires to empty more often as doesn't seem to hold as much water as the other humidifiers I have had. So far I feel it's a good replacement. By the way I got it on sale and the price and fast delivery was fantastic.

We have a super old house with a damp musty basement. This was a game changer. Works really well and has dried out our large basement very nicely. The only downfall is that it did not come with a drainage hose and we had to buy one separately. Due to the basements moisture, we were emptying the bucket 3xs a day. Once we bought a hose we were able to have it continuously drain thru the floor drain with no interruption. I am impressed with how much it pulled out of the basement air.

This is my 6th dehumidifier and it works as well if not better than any I had before. I bought as a deal of the day for $159.99 and got a $45 rebate from the electric company. I am very satisfied with it except the warranty is only for 1 year. The other brands I purchased the compressor warranty was 5 years. Still for the price I'm happy. I have always had good luck with Insignia products.

I received my dehumidifier, early in August. I ordered it because the rains this summer and early fall, managed to find a way into my basement. Not wanting to deal with wet basement problems, I ordered this dehumidifier. It was very easy to set up and use. I did add a hose, to drain it into my sump pump. Within just a few hours; the humidity was noticeably less. After a day my basement floor was dry. The unit is quite quiet and can only be heard running; when you are in the basement. My wife and I are very pleased; with this purchase.

Best dehumidifier for this price! Needed a dehumidifier to put in our basement and this was affordable and highly rated, absolutely worth it!! Does great and love that we can attach a hose to drain right into the croc or dump it.

Works as advertised for about a year, I have purchased several of these over the last few years for a really damp basement. They run year round.
After 12-18 months they start to freeze up and become ineffective. The compressor is sealed so it cannot be serviced or recharged with Freon.
I always buy the bestbuy extended warranty. When they fail, bestbuy replaces, no questions asked.
I continue to buy this one since it is very favorably priced. No other manufacturer performs any better in this price range.

I bought this dehumidifier to replace a 20 year old product. It has a higher efficiency and is not nearly as noisy as my old one. The hookup of a hose for continuous operation is straight forward, and so far it runs flawlessly. It kicks on when the humidity becomes 5 percent higher than the set value of the humidity.

We needed a dehumidifier to control the humidity in our living room and kitchen. Both were sitting at 70-80% with outside being 90% and raining. Using a smaller unit from other retailers, they helped with smaller rooms but did nothing for the larger rooms. The biggest issue we had was the humidity causing mildew buildup on the walls and condensation on the windows. Using this unit, it managed to get out house, the entire 1300sq ft, down to 55%, at which point it beging to struggle a bit. No more window condensation unless we're cooking and no more fresh mildew. I gave this about a month before reviewing just to see of we would have any issues snd so far we've had none. The first few days we had to empty the container 2 or 3 times. Now we're down to once every 2 days and loving thst we don't need to wipe down the walls and windows every 2 days. Absolutely a great value for the money.

Instead of moving our existing dehumidifier to the new house (it's more than ten years old, but still running strong), I figured I'd take a shot at a new Energy Star rated one to see if there's any real improvement - and there's no comparison. The Insignia fills crazy fast compared to our existing dehumidifier - who knows how much electricity I've been wasting limping that old one along over the years. The drain hose is a standard garden hose attachment, which works brilliantly to keep from ever having to empty it. I'm not sure who actually manufactures them, but I've been having great luck with Insignia appliances so far.

Very easy to setup. Gets rid of excess humidity in our bathroom effectively. Also removes the musty odor of the house from too much humidity. But be careful not to remove too much humidity from your house because the air gets too dry leaving you with dry skin and dry throat, and it becomes harder to breathe too with very dry air in the house. A little on the loud side and may wake you up everytime it turns on (when it is set on the auto mode). Easy to empty water reservoir. High quality build.
