It worked great last spring through summer when I purchased it. I left it in my living area through the winter and just plugged it in again in the (late) spring to find out that it doesn't work. Lesson learned - I'm a week out of the warranty and should have tried turning it on before that...it worked fine when I shut it off last September.

It started leaking underneath & then the back of it was covered in ice, behind the filter. We were always careful about cleaning the filter & allowed it to thaw before restarting. It worked for a few hours before icing up again in the back. We’ve had Frigidaire dehumidifiers in the past & never had one do this or need to replace in such a short period of time as this Insignia brand. Very disappointed & will be replacing with a different brand.

Everything worked perfectly. I then ran it at the beginning of this summer 2021 and it died just a week after the end of the warrantee period. I came downstairs to our basement where it is located and saw that there was a bunch of ice on the coils. I turned it off and unplugged it to let the ice melt. The floor was stained with weird liquid. From then on, the machine would turn on but the compressor would not. What a waste!!
