Returned to Geek Squad for another terrible experience.

I paid for a new one but received a already opened box. Best buy has just lost my trust and my business.

Very noisy. The temperature is unstable. Don't buy it, don't waste your money

Never made ice. Took 45 minutes and 2 little pieces came out.

Ran in damp basement for a week not even a drop of water. Had to return it. Went with a GE instead.

Raised electricity bill dramatically, failed after 6 month’s.

Poor quality in the shipping called into complain and nobody seems to care

I had a smaller dehumidifier, but needed to get a bigger size. After doing a lot of research, I decided on this particular model. Easy to unbox and get running. Has been working non-stop for a month without any issues. The only negative things I have found - is when trying to replace the bucket into the machine after emptying, it doesn’t always go in correctly, requiring having to pull it back off and try to get it to fit perfectly. The other is being careful when the bucket is full that you don’t tip it at all, or you’re going to get a splash of water on the floor. These are not big deals breakers for me, but just minor annoyances and one that I would definitely mention to anyone wanting to purchase it. If you want a workhorse, this is a great choice and would definitely purchase again.

The dehumidifier works great. When it is running it is pretty quiet. Doesn’t take up much space. It is doing a great job. I thought it was also a decent price.

Inexpensive way to keep your electric bill down and make you more comfortable. Cheaper than running the A/C. You do need to empty but the buckect is not too heavy when full. More of a white noise than loud. The children have no issues falling to sleep with it in.

It runs quietly, and you can put it on a comfort setting and it kicks on and off without running constantly. Does a very good job of keeping the dampness under control.

I don't know why there aren't any reviews works great, where did my last year review go? Has a digital display, set the humidity level you want, it then display the current room humidity and goes to work. It is most efficient when room temperature is above 70 degrees.

Very efficient. Works well at pulling the excess humidity out of the house. Improved air quality.

Draws water and looks nice. Collection pan hard to get in and out. Some water on floor. Will be impossible to clean if mold develops with all the nooks and crannies. Hard to pour water out into floor drain for an older person. I just hope I get used to it and it lasts longer than my last one 3 years, which was another brand.

The bottom line is that this is probably the best dehumidifier for your money. It's a stylish workhorse, and Best Buy/Insignia are more ethical/environmentally-friendly than Honeywell, GE, etc. We live in a first floor apartment with a basement in New York, so a dehumidifier is practically a necessity June through August. We keep this dehumidifier in the stairwell during the day and a little further away from our bedroom during the night, because the noise does hinder a restful sleep. 50 pints is enough to dehumidify our entire apartment, and we only have to empty the reservoir 2 or 3 times a day. There are grooves in the holster to help you guide the reservoir back in after you've removed it to empty collected water, but it's finicky and takes a certain getting-used-to. The only real con so far is that the automatic shutoff-when-full seems to happen too late, when there is already water dripping on the floor. Keep in mind that the first days/weeks are when your dehumidifier will be doing the most work (and will be the most noisy). The compressor could be on--like it was for us--almost constantly. Also, this dehumidifier does not come with a hose, although it does have a nozzle to which you can attach your own hose if you don't want to have to empty collected water manually.

Bought to dry out a room after a water leak. Worked like a dream and kept me from having to rip a wall down. Not as loud as I thought it would be running. Ready to go 2 minutes after opening the box.

Works well. Did not come with a hose for the auto drain function, so that will need to be purchased separately if you choose to use that function. I have never had an issue with any insignia products I’ve ever purchased, it’s become my preferred brand

Easily keeps humidity in my below-grade garage to 55% or less. Garage is about 25' x 25' and the dehumidifier can reduce the humidity from 75% to 55% in about 1.5 hours. Used to see standing water come under the wall in heavy rains, no more! Will probably avoid having to install a sump pump!

This dehumidifiers works very well to take moisture out of the air, making it drier. It helps prevent mold growth and dust mites. I highly recommend this product to use in the basement.
