Well Worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were looking for a new smart 50" TV when we saw Best Buy had them on sale. After looking at all of TV's this one looked the best, to my eyes, and offered the most for the money. The Insignia Roku TV makes it easy to tune into our other viewing apps.

Terrible 4K TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this set after seeing good reviews on here and hearing from friends. 1st thing I noticed was a bad odor coming from the set which I had never smelled before on any previous set I have purchased. Made me literally nauseated! Now let me get to the details. I was told the set had a componant input which I needed for a device that uses it. Got it home and all this set has is an analog input, 1 ARC/HDMI and 3 HDMI ports. The remote control is just a regular Roku remote control which is terrible. Had to stand up and move within 5 ft. to get it to work. Grabbed my TV calibration set and proceeded to calibrate this set to the best possible picture only to find it has only one setting! All it has is Bright, brighter, and brightest setting! There is no contrast, backlight, Color,Hue/Tint,Gamma settings! Nothing! Went into Advanced settings and all it had were 3 settings one being factory reset. I have never seen a set without basic setting controls to be adjusted to a users preference like this. The upscaler is Garbage! I have seen 1080p sets produce better pictur quality than this set did with upscaling. Set has a low grade 4k picture while streaming 4k content bare minimum. Looks better than 1080P but very low options for 4k sources. I hoped to see a difference with upscaling of Blu-Ray and DVD. It was NO better than 1080P. I took it back later today and went and got a Sony 1080P set. The Sony was $50 cheaper and a 48", but blew this above set away picture quality wise. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one. If you do not have the money to pay $200 more for a name brand buy a name brand 1080P set instead.

Decent for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can stay the picture quality it's not the best I've seen but for a 55" you can't beat the price. If you have the money to spend though I'd go for a little bit better tv.

Bad quality product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only lasted 1yr and 6mo until the screen went out. I should have googled reviews because it's a consistent issue. Don't buy it, save yourself the frustration.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only issue is the remote design. A little awkward to use due to the side mounted volume controls but functional.

BEWARE!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought TV on Thursday night and hooked it up also on Thursday night. While the TV includes Roku (which is a plus), the TV has blur issues every time anything moves (while watching from TV, DVD, Blu-Ray, etc.). Returned TV the next afternoon and upgraded to a Samsung 4k (what a difference). My "1" in Overall Rating is for the TV itself. I would give the employee in the store a "3"-he told us that 60hz was great if you do not watch games (football, etc.)-TV would not work watching regular TV, etc. I would give the employees that helps us with the return a "5"-the employees in Best Buy Magnolia went out of the way to help us with the return of Insignia 4k 55inch TV and the purchase of a Samsung 4k TV.

Great TV but it won't stop turning on by itself!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love my insignia, but it keeps turning itself back on! Calling Best Buy to see what can be done. I bought it a few weeks ago but have been on vacation since two days after - but on the first day it turned itself back on three times - ended up having to unplug from the wall. It does it every day. So weird!

Great Picture but internet sucks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got my tv at Christmas time and although i like the tv all in all, I cannot get it to connect to wired internet. Tried multiple Ethernet cables that attach to others and work. But this tv will not connect to internet via wired connection at all.

It's okay
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading some reviews for various 4k tvs, I decided to go with the Insignia. It has a nice design and looked like it had a good picture from what I saw in store. However, after bringing it home I wasn't so impressed. It was very blurry, it didn't upscale very well, and it doesn't support gaming in 4k. Also, there is no option to turn off the motion effect so youre stuck with the soe. This isn't a "true 4k" tv, but it might be okay for someone who doesn't mind the issues I encountered with it. After returning it I decided to go with the LG UH7700, and I am very satisfied.

You get what you pay for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read all of the reviews before buying, I loved it at first, the picture is amazing. The sound is poor at best, but the real kicker is that in less then 6 months the HDMI ports started going out 1 by 1. The service for this is absolutely horrible, I called the 1st of Feb it is now Mar 7 and still yet to be fixed. I am being told that the parts are on back order.

Nice at first but then?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV because it looked real nice in the store. Then I took it home and within a few months found out why it's price is so low (Buyer Beware). The picture started to degrade rapidly where even when showing 720p and some 1080p movies on broadcast TV or disks had a lot of large pixelation and lot's of artifacts especially around any wording. Also the TV broadcast tuner is of very poor quality as it doesn't pick up broadcast channels very well they show only one bar of strength and black out or pixilate or freeze all the time. This does not happen with my Samsung, TV all channels have a strong signal no pixilation or freezing or blackouts like this set has. My Samsung, also doesn't have any of the other problems this TV has either. Also a big problem with this set is it's desined for cable TV users not broadcast TV users because it uses a piece of garbage Roku, remote which has no numbers on it so if you need to change the channel you have to scan all the way down and all the way up this is a very bias decision Roku, made and shows they don't care about the poor and elderly who can not afford cable TV. Another thing is the amplifier is cheap producing terrible sound in certain instances like auto crashes and glass or mirrors breaking sounding like I'm listening to it through a tin can and you have to pump up the volume to 60 or more out of a 100 to even hear it, That said I will never buy an Insignia, or Roku, product again and will absolutely not recommend these products to anyone. It's crazy Insignia, use to be a great product I use to buy all the time what happened to them?

Price was right for my budget
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After looking at other TV's for sale I decided on the Insignia 55". I don't watch all that much TV, so spending thousands was really not an option. Seems like a great deal.

Easily damaged
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I literally bought this tv 4 weeks ago. I purchased the 5 yr warranty for $80 more. I was told that the warranty didn't cover cracks in the screen but didn't worry much at the time. After waiting to have the wall mount installed on my wall, I decided to use the stand that is included. (I used another tv in the meantime). I finally pulled it out of the box & set it up & hooked all of my cable lines & HD cables to it just to find an extremely large crack in the corner. I'm heartbroken!! I bought it on 6 mos no interest credit & haven't even made a payment yet. Everyone tells me it should be covered as the damage could've been caused by Best Buy. I don't know how it happened but why would I pay $550 for a tv that is now garbage if I was going to be careless about it??? .... extremely disappointed.

Insignia TV Screen went completely dark
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Insignia 55 inch TV in 2016 on Black Friday. Yesterday, Oct 2022, The TV screen went total dark with the volume still functioning. The TV hasn't even lasted 6 years. It was never damaged, mishandled, or used more than a couple hours everyday for normal routine viewing. Highly dissatisfied with this purchase. I wish Best Buy team can read this and help me.

Waste of money!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv is the biggest waste of money and time I've ever experienced! Half the time the tv doesn't connect to the internet. When it finally does, it's an hour and a half and two factory resets later! The tv is supposed to be easy to work, but instead, it's a huge pain in the a**. I'm returning it today!!

Broke immediately after receiving
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased on Monday, delivered on Wednesday, set up on Friday and stopped working after watching an 8 minute Youtube video. The TV went to a blank screen and didn't respond to factory reset or to unplugging the power for 5 minutes and turning it on again. It took me 1 hour on the phone with Geek Squad and five phone transfers to troubleshoot and refund my purchase.
