This TV is a little over a year on and died on me. The screen flashes once and goes black, no sound or anything, and of course it does this outside the warranty period so it's either get it repaired or buy a new one because I didn't get the total protection for $200. So frustrated!!

I'm not as happy as I hoped with my purchase, mostly because of the motion processing. I tried just turning it off, but it didn't work. I googled it and found many had the same problem. One fix was to put the picture in game mode. Not a great picture and when I turn the TV on, I get a green screen. So, I hsve to turn it off and back on to get a picture. Sorry, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

It’s great when it works, but has 2 big problems

The tv works great when it works, but it gets motion blur at various times. This happens with movies, video games and regular tv and it’s unwatchable when it occurs. And it also has a stutter when watching live sports. This is constant with any live sport and really takes away from the experience. This replaced a TCL tv used for the same things and I should have gotten another TCL.

      Hello there,

Thank you for taking the time to review our 55" Class F30 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV. I understand it get motion blur and that can be frustrating. You can turn off the motion processing to get rid of the blur following these steps: While watching a video, press and hold for 3 seconds the Home button to launch the Quick Access Menu, select Picture > Advanced Settings > Motion Processing On/Off. If you have any more questions or concerns, please use the link below to reach us.

Got this as a gift for my mother for Christmas. Set it up Christmas morning and it had a large line all the way across that would come and go. Went and exchanged it and the lady at Best Buy said “yeah this is common with these TVs but typically doesn’t happen till a year out”. Why Best Buy knows this and sells the tv is odd. So we exchanged it went home and set up the new tv and this one too also had the line. Had to again pack up another tv. This time we just returned it and went and got a tv at Sam’s club instead.

Well I exchanged a Toshiba Fire tv for this one. The Toshiba had a persistent picture distortion problem with horizontal lines rolling down the screen. This one did exactly the same thing. After checking it closely I think it's the exact same tv (made by Toshiba). I then exchanged this one for a Samsung (Tizen platform). Works perfectly. Obviously not a Fire tv fan.

Normally I buy Samsung TV's and have been very pleased with the Samsung products. A friend told me they really liked their Insignia TV so I decided to purchase the Insignia. The price was a little cheaper than the comparable Samsung so I thought I would give it a try. The picture is just not good. I wish I would have spent the extra $40 on the Samsung.

I bought this TV about a month ago and everything worked fine until they did a software update on it. After that the TV wouldn’t switch input unless I power cycled it. (Unplugged it for 30 seconds and plugged it back in) so I took it back to Best Buy yesterday to exchange it for a new one. Everything worked fine last night. Turned the TV on this morning and same thing, won’t switch inputs. I power cycled the TV and it still didn’t work. Tried it a few more times and nothing. Now I have to take the TV back to Best Buy again but this time I’ll get a different brand. I just don’t think it’s possible I got to faulty TV’s in a row and the Geek Squad told me they’re having issues with the latest update. Right now I have 55’ of junk. Save yourself the trouble.
