Badpurchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv only lasted for one year and 3 months! I also found others who have found the same problems. There were quite a few times where my picture would go out and all I had to do was unplug it and plug it back in, but now nothing works!!!

Received USED, wrong tv replacement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was suppose to be a replacement for a 55" Insignia that broke after 2 years because I had a 5 year warranty. They brought an OPEN BOX USED tv that was only 50" with no stand parts and no remote! A total mess. The thing had been sitting for a while too, full of dust. I called to get this issue RESOLVED and they did...replaced with a NEW Pioneer 55" TV the next week.

Its a wrap... not another one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was super excited to get this tv for my office. I was impressed and had no issues until this year AFTER I purchased a 2nd exact model in Jan 2024. This TV was purchased in 2021, first the volume started moving up and down on its own. The tv started going in and out of darkness a little later. Two days ago my tv would flash when I turn in on with only sound... no picture. THIS TV IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD!!!! I am totally waiting to see how long the one I bought earlier this year lasts... I will NEVER buy this brand again.

55" Insignia TV goes black due to faulty backlight
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the 2017 model of this TV in April. I have only had the tv for 3.5 years and I was watching TV this week and the tv screen just went black. I still have sound but no picture. I reset and called Geeksquad who informed me that my extended coverage expired in 2019 because instead of it picking up after the 1 yr manufacturer warranty Best Buy runs concurrently so right off your wasting a year of paying for something the manufacturer would repair in that first year. Geek squad referred me to Insignia (which by the way is Best Buys brand) and I was told it was a backlight issue and there was no fix for this. So after only owning the TV for 3.5 years, I now have to go and buy a NEW tv. Best Buy will NOT stand behind their product. I have read many reviews about a faulty backlight on these TVs, yet Best Buy continues to sell them. A backlight should last a good 15-20 years and many of these are going out in under 3 years. My extended warranty was for the 2 years and now I'm out of luck. The price sounds great, but that's for a reason. The backlight in these is faulty and will go out so is it really worth paying $350 with tax for a year or two before having to buy a new tv again? This is a KNOWN issue and Best Buy should recall these TVs but instead they sell for cheap so they can dupe customers into buying with obviously fake reviews or reviews within the first year before any issues occur giving this product a false high rating. Buy at your own risk. I should have been offered a replacement or at the very least a proration or credit since Best Buy obviously knows there is an issue with this product.

You get what you pay for!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this tv for my kids room back in January. There are more black spots/shadows/blur while watching tv then the actual movie. It's frustrating trying to setup this tv in a mode where my kids can watch there movie without any issues.

Rip Off
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchaed this tv February 6, 2020. I hardly watch tge tv because it's a bedroom tv. It was working great until this morning when I tried to turn it on and it wouldn't come on. I see the blue light and it even flashes but it won't come on. It didn't fall or anything! As I searched for similar issues regarding this model after or close to a year this tv becomes garbage and they wont replace it!

It's A No For Me.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this tv for 2 years now and have been disappointed. First, Amazon is constantly putting apps and such on the tv that aren't wanted or needed, which eats up precious storage. Second, it just went black, only sound, no picture, and Alexa can't even help. Third, the remote it a joke with limited functions.

Short Life Span
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV was good while it lasted. After almost three years of general use, something caused the backlight to stop working. Geek Squad could not fix it and said this is common for these TVs after a few years. Glad I purchased the warranty so I got my money back for a new TV. I would not recommend unless you are planning to upgrade in three or so years.

Stopped working after 6 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this TV at first. It’s price point was perfect and I loved the features on it. The picture was great and everything. But here we are 6 months later and it no longer has a picture. All I get is a black screen. Still has sound so I can’t say it’s not turning on. You just can’t see anything AT ALL. Praying there’s some kind of warranty on this so I can get a replacement. If I have to buy a new one I will be livid.

Not the best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV didn't last long. The LED lights just broke on the TV so now there is no picture. We tired to work with insigna to see how to get it fixed but since the TV purchase is over a year old they told us there was nothing they can do.

Get the warranty!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buy the warranty. My TV decided to die 2 months after the 1 year warranty ended. Was working fine. Paused a show, the TV went to sleep. Woke it up to no screen. Powered on and nothing. Hit the Home button and the screen will flash, but crashes and turns off. Did this a couple of times and it came back on the first night. Second night, nothing. Don't know what happened.

NEVER SHOPPING AT BEST BUY AGAIN
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a 55 Inch Insignia 4k smart tv less than 1 1/2 years ago. The tv will only get a black screen now. I called Best Buy support and they pretty much told me that I should have purchased and extended warranty and they could not assist me. I was transferred several times and even hung up on. Since when does a TV last no more than 1 1/2 years? I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN ANOTHER BEST BUY EVER!

Don't buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv in July 2019. Today ,JAN 26 2021, It no longer powers up. Caput. I had called for warranty in June 2019 because of a faulty remote. They did send the remote at no cost. So basically the tv will last a year and a half or 18 months.

Known issues...TV went dead after 16 months!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the TV for only 16 months and it died. TV would not turn on and had a complete black screen. Apparently this is a somewhat common issue with the Insignia Fire TV models from the online research I did to try and find a fix for what was causing it not to start. It sucks, only four months out of it's one year warranty and it's already dead. Needless to say I'm HIGHLY disappointed in Insignia and Best Buy for selling a TV with power and screen issues and no way to fix it. Do yourself a favor and avoid! Or buy the extended warranty. It was a nice TV while it lasted but one would expect more than 16 months of service!

DO NOT BUY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.****Caution do not buy.**** I bought two of these tv for Christmas of 2019. Then a year and a week of purchase one tv would flash on and then go black. The led back light would not turn on. I could put a flash light and see the picture. There is no easy fix. I took it to store and employees and then manager at Best Buy said there was nothing I could do but by another one. Then one year and six months from the date of purchase the second tv did what the first tv did. I am extremely disappointed and will not recommend or buy this brand ever again. ****Caution do not buy.****

No longevity
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We’ve had this tv for just over a year. We love the fire tv portion of it but now the screen is just black. It will flash on for a second then the backlights will shut off. Now we are just outside the manufactures warranty and can’t get it replaced. Pretty disappointed.
