We have had this TV for over 6 years and have never had a problem with it. It is just as good as the name brand TV but at a much better price.

After researching for 55" LED TV's for over 2 weeks my wife and I decided to go with the 55" Insignia LED TV from Best Buy. We were wanting to get a larger tv for our family room and were not looking for a 3D or SMART tv. We only use this tv with our HD satellite box and the blu ray player. We are extremely pleased with the Insignia...Sure we could have paid $300-$800 more for the Samsung or LG but this tv is a great bargain. Once we got the tv up over the fireplace I turned it on for the first time #right out of the box so no calibrations or setting changes# we both said "WOW" at the same time. It almost looks 3D on some of the channels. Here are our pros and cons:
Pros
1) Excellent Picture
2) Great Price
3) Easy set up
4) For such a large tv it is very thin and lightweight
5) SRS Surround Sound is amazing thru your Home theater system
6) Ability to change setting and ease of use of remote
Cons
1) Sound just from tv is not good
2) Still some screen blur at times #tv is slow to correct but does#
Overall this is an excellent LED tv and we would have given it a 4.5 out of 5 if that were an option. We did purchases the 4yr warranty just for peice of mind and at $129 this is a great price.
We bought the tv at the Best Buy store and the customer service was excellent. We went in to see if the tv was in stock and the associates confirm it was and if we had other errands in 15-20 mins it would be ready. We did since finishing upm Christmas shopping and when we came back 30 mins later it we were met at the front door with the tv. Finished the transaction and out the door in 10 mins...Treating customers like this is what keeps them coming back.....

was iffy on getting an insignia, but glad i did now. now i am not like the other reviewers, who came from a basic non-hd tube set to this... of course this is going to be amazing for them... any HD set will be for them. I although have come from multiple HD tv's... from a sony LCD, LG LCD, and samsung plasma. This TV is still amazing for me.
Even though my previous TV's were all name brand, the price difference on this one was too much to ignore. Plus, after getting non-name brand computer monitors that have all worked flawlessly, i started believing the market and technology is now good enough on all levels, so I gave in to try this insignia.
Though its my first LED, we have some high end ones at work. The picture is as amazing as the samsungs at work... great colors and picture quality. The sound isn't so great as with any of these, but thats what a sound system is for, but its fine for normal day to day tv.
this one though has no special things like smart TV or internet apps, but thats fine... hooking up a laptop works perfect and if i really want apps i'll buy a roku... which is still much cheaper than having a TV with it built in. with the price difference of a TV with internet apps, you might as well buy a PS3 (i just don't play video games or watch blu rays so i'll stick with a roku.
overall very glad i got this instead of a higher priced samsung or LG...

Great tv, but the screen blurs all the time.

This tv is great for the price but the screen blurs on about every show, sport, and game. The sound is probably about average for an LED. Other than that the picture quality is great. It's almost like watching 3d tv all the time. A little dissappointed in the screen blur, not sure if this is common for all 120hz led tvs. Oh and I also like the matte finish frame around the screen it keeps finger prints hidden!

I bought this Tv for a great day after Christmas price.I took it home and loved the design, thin, black and lightweight.I set it up and turned it on.My first impression, great picture. Then as a few minutes went by and i noticed robotic movement of people,a blurry outline of people.Over the next few days i tried to make this tv work, turned off the 120hz option slow it down speed it up, and numerous differant settings to try and correct the problem, nothing worked, then i read some other reviews and some people said the same thing,it seems the tv cannot keep up with processor on the TV,does not correct motion blur and suffers from unreal robotic movement of people. Some people may be able to overlook this problem but as for me,not acceptable, too bad too,i loved the tv's design and easy to use features.I took it back and traded in for a 55 inch LG LCD,if Insignia fixes this glitch in their tv's than i think they will have a good product to make customers happy.

I purchased this tv a week ago and just upgraded my cable to HD and this tv exceeded my expectations for being an Insignia Best Buy brand compared to the other name brand tv's. Although I am not too surprised in its performance knowing that Samsung makes the Insignia tv's. For the price, picture quality and sound, you really cant get a better deal with this size of tv and it being an LED. Compared to the other name brand tv's, the picture was better when I looked at them on the Best Buy showcase in the store. Compared to its name brand maker, Samsung, there really wasnt a difference in the picture either. So I decided to go with the Insignia LED 55" and save some money and still get a great tv. The sound quality is what you would expect with any tv but gets the job done if you dont have a home theater system. I have a home theater system hooked up in my set up so when I watch movies and things like that I use the home theater, but regular tv watching the sound is just fine. I would highly recommend this tv to anyone who wants a great deal and get superb performance.

I recently bought this TV a little over a month ago and I have been nothing but impressed! The picture quality is amazing and the ease of setting up was also a plus. I have TWC and the HD Channels come in amazingly clear. I was going to get a 47" at first but very happy that I decided to go with 55". The sleek design was also a selling point for, being more than half the size of a LCD TV. The remote is rather small but i use my TWC remote for everything. If you want a great TV i would recommend this model to everyone.

Have had the TV almost a month and have no complaints. Easy to set up and is currently mounted above my fireplace. I use the TV with an HD Cable Box and Blu Ray. Would have liked a longer power cord, but that is because it is mounted on a brick fire place and runnig the cord to the side instead of into the wall. Great TV. No issues with sound at all, but it is now hooked up to surround system so don't even use the TV speakers anymore.

The picture Quality on this Insignia 55" LED is comparable to LED TV's priced nearly twice the price, I seen it on sale and knew exaclty which TV I was going to take home, the overall contrast looks pale compared to the other TV's in line next to it because "VIVID" is not the default setting for picture instead the picture looks nearly as good as a TV that has been through a Calibration, plus the Viewing angle is right on par with every other LED TV in line at nearly a full 180. The draw back :There are a limited number of inputs so a HDMI Receiver or HTIB is a must have accesory for this TV (or really any TV manufactured after 2000) since the sound quality is only on par with similar 1" deep LED TV's.

My boyfriend and I had been debating about buying a new TV for a while now. Our sad 32" TV began going out a week prior to the purchase of this TV. After reading the reviews, I just knew this was the one. For the price, this TV is great. It's an LED TV which makes the picture quality amazing (just be sure to adjust it when you set it up). We connect through surround system so i can't really comment on the sound quality. The only issue we had were the number of connections. We still need to upgrade our receiver so it can use HDMI connections. The TV is only capable of 1 set of component connections so we have to switch back and forth between satellite and XBox. But once we have a new receiver, problems will be solved.
We also weren't sure about the size because we originally wanted a 60". We just couldn't bring ourselves to pay $500-$600 more for a 60" that probably wasn't going to be an LED. And with the size of our living room, we can't even tell the difference. And trust me, going from 32" to 55" was plenty!

I was shopping Best Buy for 46" to 50" for the family room. I chose the LED 55" tv for the great deal with a free Insignia sound bar and blue ray player. Kudos to Insignia customer support. I had purchased a Insignia 39" tv a week earlier with easy set up so I was initially disappointed when I was unable to get a picture from my AT&T Uverse. It was Sunday night and when I saw that Insignia support was open until 12 midnight cdt 7 days a week I made the call expecting a long wait to speak with customer service. I was surprised to speak to a live person in 90 seconds. He was polite and knowledgable and most importantly, patient. We went through the full checklist and no picture. I was ready to throw in the towel when I decided to switch out the cable box with another. That's when I found the problem; I had the cable from the wall connected to the wrong input to the box. I reconnected correctly and had a picture as soon as the Uverse box rebooted. The customer rep had been very patient through the problem and I commented that the picture was not as great as I expected. The box had been hooked up to an older CRT Sony so the rep said he would help me reset the box to 1080. The guy knew what he was doing and 2 minutes later I was looking at a great picture. The value of the Insignia was not just the product but the availability of customer service on weekends. I have no problem recommending this tv and Insignia to my friends and family.

Just got this LED TV today as a Xmas present to myself..lol. Was a snap to set up in just a few minutes. Picture is very vibrant, colors are great and sound is wonderful. I do suggest spending the extra few $$$ to buy the 4 yr. service. The Best Buy service plan is second to none and well worth the money in case you have a problem. For the money spent you just cannot beat this LED TV and I looked and studied for a long time before making my purchase, At the present sale price it is a steal!!!!

this is the third insignia TV we have bought.....all have been great so far...the sound on the other TV's wasn't that good....but the 55 inch LED Insignia sound is MUCH better.....works great with my Blue Ray...and the Netflix streaming looks very good on it also. The LED is MUCH cooler to run in a small room....the other TV actually got the room hot in a very short amount of time, that is why we switched to LED and moved the other Insignia to a bigger room
Easy hook up and instructions....keep up the good work.

Best picture ever! I have DirecTV, a BlueRay player, and the Wii connected, and the picture quality is all it should be and more. Despite some poor reviews concerning sound, I think the built in speakers are pretty good. Of course we mostly use the surround sound, but the TV speakers are more than adequate if you don't have surround or a sound bar. TV has three HDMI inputs as well as component input, so I don't have to disconnect anything when little momma wants to play the Wii. And it has digital audio out, so the surround sound is available for any source connected to the TV. Programmable (easy to program, even) remote is great. One remote controls TV and receiver, no need to keep up with multiple remotes.
The staff at Best Buy in Greeley were very courteous, friendly and helpful. Easiest major purchase I've ever made.

Saw the review below about this tv "not being a real LED, just a LCD backlit with LED." All LED tvs--even the expensive ones-- are LCD tvs backlit with LEDs. Either that person did absolutely no research before dropping $800 on a TV, or was given poor help. It's a shame, too, because for $800, this tv is an incredible value. No, it's not going to blow your mind with the picture, but it will compare very nicely with TVs that cost 35% more. I'm consistently impressed with the Insignia brand...you definitely get more than what you pay for.

I was a little bit on the fence about the insignia brand at first, but not anymore. This TV is a great bang for the buck. Of course like with any TV you have to get it set right. One you do the picture is amazing and vibrant. I play PS3 and XBOX360 as well and it looks fantastic with games like Skyrim and Rage. It has a game mode, but i think i prefer to use my custom settings. It has a 24p film mode you can turn on too for movies if you want. I have mine hooked up to a receiver with optical so i don't use the TV sound so sound quality is not an issue. The sound on the TV itself is just ok,but not bad. Overall this is a great value if your looking for a huge TV For a fraction of the price.

This TV provides great bang for the buck. The large 55" screen is excellent quality and works better than any other flat screen I own when viewing non-HD channels. The HD channels are also provide great screen quality. I am also using with a WII and with NetFlix and both work excellent with the TV. The only issue and this was not a big problem for me, was that it only had 3 HDMI inputs and 1 Component input.

Great Led Tv I bought the Toshiba 55 inch on Saturday and took it back on Monday because the picture was not good enough for me but this one is great. Some people say the motion flow is not that great but their are different modes for motion flow so you can adjust it . The best thing about this tv, is playing games been playing battlefield 3 since I got it and could not be happier. I think if you can't decide on this or a Samsung or any other high end tv give it a try you can always take it back within 30 days. No bells and whistles but I have an xbox and ps3 for the apps anyways. Insignia seems to be the Vizio nobody really knows about them but they make a good product
