We bought this tv after finding out that Insignia is made by Samsung and the picture looked great in the store. We set it up at home, and had to make some adjustments in the picture for our room, but after changing the picture mode the picture if flawless. It is crystal clear and sharp. I do not notice any blurring or shadows, and the pixar movies for my kiddos is unbelievable. I am very impressed with the amazing picture. The sound is pretty good once we made some adjustments, but I will most likely hook it up to a sound bar eventually. The sound is very similar to my Samsung 40 inch we have in my game room. The picture is actually slightly better then my lcd 1080 p 120 hz Samsung 40 inch we bought last year. (I think it is the led lighting vs the lcd lighting). We have had it for a few weeks now and have had no problems with it at all!!! Beautiful TV!

For the price you can't go wrong. The TV has an Xbox 360, Wii, Blu-Ray and Charter HD hooked up and all work great. This is used with with a surround system so the sound is not a big deal, even without the stereo the sound is still fine. The picture looks fine out of the box, as others noted some settings need to be tweaked. I played around and haven't gotten it to look any better than stock. The parts are supposed to be Samsung on the inside, so I didn't feel like spending a few hundred for a real Samsung.

I recently purchase this TV due to helping my parents purchase a new TV. I feel in love with it so I went on and purchased it. I used my Xbox 360 a lot and this TV handles gaming and Netflix streaming wonderfully. Also watching sports as well as your favorite TV shows is wonderful. The sound on the TV is Ok and there could be more connections. But, overall I would recommend this to anyone. Best price for a LED and 2 year warranty you cant beat that.

We were the owners of a 62" Toshiba DLP, which has now died twice. We researched options in the 55" range. Since we already own an Insignia 40", we were excited to check out the LED 55" in the store. My wife was so impressed with the in-store performance, we purchased it. Setup was very easy. When I turned it on, we tested it with an HD movie, and the picture was even better than in the store. We have it connected to a Bose 3-2-1 system and it is an awesome replacement for our dead DLP. Don't know why we waited so long.

This TV has a crisp picture, nice frame, good volume, and a great price. Best buy's Insignia brand goes on sale often, so wait until you see a good price to buy. even at full price though, it's a great value. You're not getting the incredible picture or Smart TV that you get with a Samsung, but Samsung's over double the price and doesn't go on sale often. The HDMI connections are plenty. You won't be disappointed with this TV.

I was not very tech savvy when I started looking at new tvs. I did my homework, spoke with several sales reps at several stores, checked online. Was looking at the Insignia 47" LED. Was a bit concerned that many people had issues with the tv turning itself off and on. Talked to the sales rep at BestBuy asked what she would reccommend (I wanted the largest non-smart LED tv they had), she showed me the Insignia 55". Bought it / a Samsung Blueray DB-D6500 (to stream Netflix) and a Linksys E1550 wirless router. Easy set up. Picture quality varies with signal. Quality signal gives a very clear picture, dvd's are excellent picture. Some sport events look a bit grainy (the tv shows you the signal strength as you change channels - kind of cool). I hear people complaining about the sound quality. I found mine to be better than my old 27 " Panasonic box tv. It is not dolby surround quality, but it is very acceptable. You can patch it thru your stereo or purchase an inexpensive sound bar if you need better sound. I am very happy with the tv quality, and the sales person was helpful and friendly. My only issue was with the Samsung Blueray player. It does not connect to Netflix. I have contacted the Geek Squad, Samsung, Netflix, my dsl provider and Linksys tech support. I have port foward 80 443 TCP (no idea what that means but was walked thru it) it did not resolve the issue. Netflix stated that this morning, a release came thru stating it is a known issue between Samsung and Netflix and the two companies are working to resolve it. No time frame given. I am keeping the tv cause it ROCKS! I am returning the blueray player and will get a WII or Roku to stream Netflix. I would recommend this tv to a friend!

My son bought this before us and he liked it so we gave it a try. For our first HD television we are very satisfied. We just needed a larger tv that was reasonably priced. It didn't matter if we could hook it up to the internet or not. My husband is a little hard of hearing so we could use a sound bar but it is not really necessary. For what we paid and for what we needed this is a great purchase.

In this price range you probably won't find wifi and great sound specs while still getting this size of screen or LED picture quality. But for us we use an external sound system and my PS3 for internet streaming and gaming. Take some time to go through the picture options and tweak it until it looks good for your useage. HD shows and my PS3 games look great on it as well as HULU streaming.

Just installed this TV on the wall, connected to my DirecTV HD, LG Blu-ray and the picture almost looks too REALISTIC. It will take a little while to get use to the amazing detail, color, bright white, dark blacks this TV produces. The sound spedakers are horrible, noyt a big deal for me since I have a nice surround sound speaker system. Big picture needs big sound. I installed this on my wall, with a Sanus mount and since its less than 2" deep, you will also need the Powerbridge model TSCK in-wall power cable management system to hide all the cables and have the TV mounted close to the wall. Best purchase I've made from Best Buy so far. Don't hesitate with this TV, you won't get a better looking picture with more expensive TV's. 2-year warranty, big bonus! This is the private brand from Best Buy, it's every bit as quality as any major brand name.

I did some research on led tvs and found this insignia on sale and thought Id give it a try. So far I'm impressed with the picture quality but like other reviews the sound could be better just need to hook up a surround sound and that won't be an issue. Overall I'm happy with this tv

    Best Bang for the Buck

I am a casual viewer, maybe an hour or two in the evenings, weekend sports and such, and not a video or audiophile. But I did want to upgrade my dated 32". After a lot of poking around for 55" and larger LED TV's, I found this to be the best for the money. Currently the biggest price jump is from a 55" to 60", which is around $500. Best Buy has recently been selling this 55” TV for between $899 and $949. Got it for $899 on sale the first week in February. I could not justify paying $1400 for a 60" vs $900 for a "55. Upgrading from my older 32" LCD to a 55" LED was a much bigger jump than I realized. I am still amazed at the screen size and quality. It only took me a couple of days of watching it to figure I just had to have the little extras, and wound up forking over a little more than planned. I added a sound bar which improved the factory TV sound. Upgraded to blue ray and added a Roku Lt for streaming video with access to Netflix, Hulu, and more. Also a Sennheiser wireless headphone for late night watching while others sleeping. This TV does come with a headphone jack, which is nice, and which many TV’s do not come with. The free shipping and installation was nice. They call the day before with a two hour window in which they will be at your house, and call again as they are on their way. The crew was nice and very quick, and had it installed in a few minutes. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase.

Paid $650.00 for this since it was a floor model. actually looking to settle for smaller TV but decided to take a chance with insignia brand. very please so far. price was terrific and therefor can easily overlook shortcomings with sound. great picture - some broadcasts look almost 3D.

Couldn't beat the price point. The sound is par for similar TVs, you won't a flat screen that sounds any better than this. The sound is fine for every day use. Picture quality is acceptable for the price. There is a bit of ghosting and it struggles a bit with black shades - for me the minimal ghosts and black shade issues are small enough that I'm happy to deal with them at the price point. Other brands are significantly more and while better, still have issues with black shades and gohsting. If you're not a videophile I would give this go before over spending. I got a killer TV and 4yr coverage plan for at least $300 less than name brand. Will update if things happen to wrong with the product.

This tv has a great picture.I was amazed at the difference in quality between this LED versus my old LCD. My old tv was a 42 inch Dynex and when I got it it was night and day difference from old to new.I'd have to say the same thing for this tv.I was extremely surprised at the quality of this tv.Its almost like your in the scenery you are watching. It's almost like watching in 3D.Like I said I was amazed and am extremely happy with this purchase and it was on sale to boot got about 200 dollars off.

I GOT THIS A MONTH AGO, AND THE PICTURE IS AWESOME, I REVIEWED A TON OF TV'S AND FOUND ALL FLAT PANELS HAVE POOR SOUND, NO SPACE FOR SPEAKERS. SO I WENT FOR PICTURE AND PRICE. THIS IS A GREAT TV, EASY TO SETUP, EASY TO WALL MOUNT. EASY TO USE. LOVE THIS TV.

Bought this with the realization that may have to return it for quality reasons mainly as it was not one of the Big brands, but have been nothing but pleased with it. Bought a sound bar assuming the sound would not be up to par, but it too is much better than expected. Would recommend to everybody. Doesn't have all the "smart tv" features, but the items connected to the tv do all those things and more so wasn't needed. Gladly traded features for lower price and bigger screen.

I love my TV. No bells and whistles, just a great picture. Sound is not loud, but we have a large living room. A sound bar took care of that issue with minimal cost. Love the two year warranty. Plus they delivered it for free...next day....and set it up.

I just bought this television for the family room and I was satisfied. The picture shows great but the sound is a little disappointing. However, I connected my Bose GS Series III and the sound is excellent now. We a very pleased and would recommend this television to our friends.

I hesitantly purchased this as an open box but I could not be more pleased with the quality and picture. The only downside I can see with this tv is that you HAVE to have a remote to use the tv (since I purchased this as an open box, the remote was missing, and therefore I had to go back to the store to get it before I could set it up.)

We shopped around for quite a while before buying this Insignia. Although we bought it online, we went to the store first to make sure we liked the picture quality. Delivery was as promised. Set up was pretty easy. I was a little worried that the sound wouldn't be loud enough, but it's fine for our family that includes some senior citizens. Very sleek; looks great. We teamed the TV up with a blue ray DVD player that lets us watch movies from the internet. It's great having such a huge TV.
