    Regret buying

This TV is awful. It doesn’t hold many apps. A lot of the apps freeze. It says I need to delete memory in order to have better streaming quality. I have 8 apps on my tv. That’s it. The picture isn’t that great. It’s my first and last Fire TV. I have around 50 apps on my Roku tv in the bedroom and it works just fine. The sound isn’t great either and I had to buy a sound bar to make it worth my while. It’s honestly a let down and waste of money. I’ve now had this a year and it’s still so awful. I wish I had money to buy another.

The audio always gets ahead of the picture. I have to reset tv once every other time I watch it. I'm using sound bar and have used optical and Jack's but same results. I've changed the sound settings with same results. It's a lower end tv so I shouldn't complain but its very aggravating to sit down, notice it and have to get back up, pull out plug, hit reset button for 30 seconds then turn back on. I usually buy higher priced options on my TVs but I had a bunch of gift cards is only reason I bought tv, I didn't want to go over what I had just for a tv in my bedroom.

    Massive issues in 1.5 years

Purchased in April 2020, backlights died in October 2021. Often the TV will flicker on for less than a second and then go black. Or if the TV is left unplugged for 20-30 minutes, it will go black after 10 seconds of being on (can still hear sound from the tv when using the remote). If this issue did not happen, probably still only 3 stars, picture never seemed to be truly 4K compared to other 4K TVs, and often struggled with internet connectivity (was connected via ethernet cable).

I purchased this TV on April 11, 2020 and now it won’t even display the picture - in less than two years! I’ve replaced the remote, the power supply, and reset everything I could, and NOTHING! This is absurd! I shouldn’t have to repair a TV I’ve owned for less than 24 months. I have a Vizio and a Samsung smart TV from 2013, and they are still going strong! I will never, ever, ever, buy an Insignia Fire TV again. Save your money and buy something better!

I’m very disappointed in the Amazon Fire Operating system. Too many adds, has lag when streaming and isn’t stable. I have 2 Roku TV’s, wish I hadn’t cheated out buying the Amazon Fire TV.

I purchased this Insignia 55” 4K TV 03/2020 because I thought I was getting a great deal however after 14 months the LED lights went out called BEST BUY was told there is nothing they can do about it because I didn’t purchase the GeekSquad warranty. Less than 60 days after the 1 year warranty expired the TV’s LED lights go out and the Mfr. will not help because it’s 42 days past the warranty. Not a happy customer. Purchase the warranty the TV IS NOT BUILT TO LAST.

    Backlight Problems

Bought in March 2020. Worked fine for about a year but would start glitching (certain apps wouldn't open and would have to manually restart the TV in the settings). Picture quality is okay but definitely does not seem 4K. After 1.5 years, the backlight went out but started working a day or two later. After 2 years, the backlight is completely out and TV is unusable. Do not recommend if you want a TV for a long time.

Even when it worked, the picture was just OK. The darks were poor, but for the price paid, it was not the worst. Ten months after purchase, the picture just goes black. It is currently useless. I have had multiple appointments that have either yielded zero results on the tech never came. This was the first and last TV I buy from Insignia. Unless my replacement order get processed soon, it will be the last thing I purchase at BestBuy as well. The customer service has been horrific poor.

    Limited Apps vs Firestick

Better to buy non FireTV model and separate FireStick or Roku. Popular app Sony Crackle not on FireTV's limited list of apps, but is available on FireStick and Roku. TV itself is great.

This tv had problems straight out of the box. Did a lot of troubleshooting and got it to work for a day. Return it for a Toshiba model and happy with that until.
